Chesh and the gang really need to get the ball rolling on their stuff and put the other so called writers out on their rear.

A twenty spot says they would do more work im an hour than biddy and OK have done this season

I've dropped the ball recently. I went back to school this year to get a new degree and it's consumed my free time between it and work. I finish up on Thursday however and will be back in the game then.

Rivals is saying Jalin isn't going to happen.

Reason? Oklahoma? We drop him?

ETA: SOAB - Well, something happened. Still just speculations as to what, but supposedly a mutual decision. Don't know if it was eligibility related, some issue that arose or what.

Just another crazy idea but.....

could it have been some type of recruiting violation and we had to stop recruiting him to keep from getting hit with the violation?

I'd just track where the Coaches are going for their visits. I'm not worrying about it. We'll get who we get and hopefully we'll surprise some people and pull in some highly regarded guys that can add to our depth and maybe make an early splash.

We still need athletes across the board.

Per his twitter. We make Sheldrick Redwine's Top 6 along with UK, Louisville, USF, Texas, & Minnesota.

Seriously I get the majority of my hog news from the secrant and you fine people. Not a single dime to any service. And I get some recruiting sling from ole dick at wholehogsports.com even though the info from them is sometimes kinda ehh. Just putting something up for views.

I used to like Davenport until I realized that his updates were essentially all the same. "[insert recruit] enjoyed his visit and came away impressed with Arkansas's facilities. He said he really liked Coach [insert lead recruiter]."

That's a weird offer list both in terms of program quality and geographic location of the schools, so much so that I thought he was a basketball recruit for a second.

Could someone give me an example of a "good" recruiting writer? I just don't see the outrage over RD. He provides his shite for free. If anything, it looks like he just regurgitates whatever the recruits tell him...which is exactly what he should be doing. Otis and his ilk are the ones who run stories and assign arbitrary predictions based on nothing but their gut feeling or "sources."

I didn't rage against Davenport, just passed along that I used to follow his updates until I made that realization.

I wouldn't read Otis if his son was the recruit in question -- he's always been a know-nothing. His height/weight embellishment was legendary. I can't count how many DEs and LBs we were on who were 6-3, 240 and showed up in the media guide a year later at 6-1, 215. Reading an Otis Kirk height/weight is like listening to a fishing story from your grandfather, always subtract a few inches and pounds.

Unless it's a story of a sexual conquest. Then you do the opposite.

Not really.

Since he's been employed by the ADG, his articles require a subscription to read on line or you paying whatever they charge for the print version today.

His radio spots and tweets are no different than the recruiting sites give as far as "free info", its free once its "old news".

Since he landing the job at the ADG he no longer posts info on message boards or answers questions like he did before hand.

It is "easier" to qualify for Big12 than SEC, FWIW.

We've "lost" several recruits in both football and basketball to big12 schools because of this.

Just remember that the next time a recruit is flipped from OU and Bob says during his NSD presser he pulled the offer because he couldn't qualify...

There's about 6 kids at IMG I had hoped we'd get after hard when Hjalte got there.

My wet dream is this kid helps us establish a nice little pipeline from Bradenton.

They had a D-1 OL I think all 5 linemen are signing w/ P5 teams. The QB is a big time prospect going to FSU.

Jordan Stevenson decommitted from the longwhores this morning and was supposedly going to flip to Wisconsin. That likely won't happen anymore for obvious reasons I'll bet anything that Bert makes a hard push on him.
