Wommack played there. His dad was the DC there under Nutt. It might pull him but I would hope he stays put.

Part of me wonders if Ole Miss will give Kane a look when Kiffin leaves. His family has history there too

I'm hoping they just promote Charlie Weis Jr.

Wommack since halftime of the Vanderbilt game has been lights out.
He simplified the defense, gave up his obsession with mugging/sending both ILBs on kamikaze blitzes and has made the other teams pay for every single point. Given what we’ve had to work with due to roster and injuries it’s been a very good year.
It was hilarious against eastern Illinois running pseudo punt block defenses zero high because that’s how he’s wired.

Feels like the "rats off sinking ship" feeling.
First with Shep, now potentially with Wommack.
Seems suspicious.

Agreed. Seems very suspicious that assistants would want to become head coaches. It just doesn’t make sense someone would want that career arc.

Yeah I really can’t understand why someone would want to go from making 350k to 2 million. Super weird.

In all seriousness, this is a huge move up for Shep and I think if you’re Wommack or any coordinator and you get a SEC HC job you take it. Especially at Arkansas where if you get in the right people’s ear you can have a ton of NiL
