The two out of conference games that Alabama and Tennessee played earlier this season. NC State was ranked at the time. Not sure why. But they were. That win was so over blown by the media for the Tennessee side. Since they played Tennessee they have been not so great. Lost their last two games to Syracuse and Wake Forest. Barely beat LA Tech. Wisconsin, on the other hand, has been really pretty good. Won their last two games by huge margins against Rutgers and Purdue. Lost a hard fought game at USC. They have Northwestern this week and then host Penn State.

Tenner will be ready to play. They'll be hyped up. Crowd will be loud and rowdy. They lost their defensive captain and play caller to injury. They have a freshman qb. Their receivers aren't as good as they were in 2022. Their running game is concerning. Especially vs BAMA's D-line. That's the matchup to watch. I know everyone wants to talk about BAMA's secondary vs Nico, but tenner is a run first offense.
BAMA needs to blitz on obvious passing downs and sell out to stop the run. Make Nico throw it 40x.
On offense, BAMA just needs to be themselves. Milroe needs to get those legs going. Gotta stretch their defense out and don't let them crowd the LOS. And when you get #2 or #5, 1-on-1 swing for the fences. BAMA should take at least 10 deep shots vs tenner.

Iamaleava has looked very suspect against Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Florida. His hype was coming from crazy stats with Heupel running up the score on FCS opponents. Bobby Hill looking mf kicked an onside in the first half against one of those teams to help pad those stats. I will be very disappointed if he tears up the Bama secondary.

It’s hard to gauge because that was Locke’s first game as the Wisconsin QB.

Defense will have to play much better. The sloppy tackling the past two weeks will get Bama beat vs the Vols.
The O line has to be play much more consistently. Tennessee is going to come with 5-7 guys on every play, so Milroe has to make good decisions and for God's sake, no back breaking INTs.
It'll be loud as hell and I'm certain we're going to get hosed at times by the refs (like two years ago), so the level of play from all our guys has to be stepped up considerably from the past two games. The effort and execution from the past two weeks isn't gonna get it done this week.

I can’t think of anything that will have less of an impact on this game than how Wisconsin and NC St are playing.

Maybe. Their secondary is their weak link so we’llsee if they protect them by having extra people in coverage or by trying to force the ball out quickly. We’ve seen Milroe struggle mightily with pressure so I assume too that they’ll go that route.

The same impact as what happened up there two years ago, but the announcers will bring it up 345 times.

Joel Klatt had an interesting insight into Nico's struggles on The Next Round.
He said that back in his day you'd have traditional dropbacks which helped QBs to throw on time. There are all sorts of different drop backs from 3 steps back to 7. He says the dropback helps with timing for a QB and helps them get into a rhythm. Nico is just back there looking for his first option without a key on when to throw the ball or when to look to his next option. On a traditional 7 step drop you're scanning the field as you drop and then when you hit your back foot on that last step the ball is coming out.
