Yes, there absolutely is an opportunity for a young guy to take a job there in my opinion. But if you're making me place a bet on the starter week one in the slot I'll take Jojo based on nothing more than being next up there this season.

I'm admittedly not much of a recruiting guy anymore - kind of lost interest in it a couple years back so I have no idea how good any of the incoming guys are and haven't really watched film. I do know from having watched locally that Prentice has real burners.

Agreed. Will be looking forward to seeing his progress in the spring.

On the case of Leary, he always reminded me more of Josh Jacobs type than of a receiver.

I like what we have. We seemed to really only use 3 wide receivers most the year. The other guys really just need experience and reps actually playing. I think some of these guys will surprise us, but we'll see.

The two previous WR classes we've had have been filled with either misevaluations or guys who have to develop (projects). It's a reason we've been in the portal the last two recruiting cycles getting WRs. The truly elite guys we recruited (like Boutte and X. Worthy) didn't come to Bama because they didn't want to sit behind Jeudy, Ruggs, Metchie, Smith and Waddle and/or they just didn't want to be here. The returning WRs on the roster, in my opinion, have showed little to nothing. Jojo? Hall? Leary? Jones-Bell? Nothing. I believe the competition for starting WR jobs will be wide open and the incoming freshmen will get serious looks for those starting jobs. I also believe we will see 1-3 more WRs transfer out of here depending on what happens in the Spring.

I think the best receiver that we signed this recruiting class is Bond. He seems tough and has that extra gear that we need.
