he has a long way to even compete with Saban let alone Meyer IMO.

He's only 1 away from Meyer, I think he has a very good chance to match that before Lawrence leaves

I think some of you underestimate how big of a gump Dabo is. He loves Alabama as much as anyone posting on this board. He grew up hooked on it, played here, and then coached here. I mean take a look at his staff. Half of them went to Alabama. It's silly to dismiss the idea that they'd want to come home one day.

He knows all about our history and "mama called."

I still think he'll take the job when Saban retires honestly. I'll be mildly surprised if he doesn't

Dabo isn't leaving. I thought it would be tough after his first championship and now I think it's nearly impossible. He's too cemented over there in numerous ways.

Even after 2016 and especially after last year's Sugar Bowl, I thought we would sell to him that he could go from being merely a top tier coach to a legend. Kind of a Roy Williams Kansas to UNC move.

Well Dabo's a legend at Clemson now. To leave Clemson would mean uprooting his family from there and leaving the program that took a chance on him which he built into arguably the best in football. He'd leave all of that to follow the best coach of all time at what is now kind of a lateral move. Also factor that Clemson won't let him go without a fight either.

We should gauge his interest and make him an offer that would make his grandchildren millionaires because he'd be the best available candidate. From everything I've heard, he still has a lot of love & respect for UA, but I don't expect Dabo to ever leave Clemson.
