Why did Saban try to hire Grubb in January 2023 after BOB left?

Was Coach that desperate? Rees seems like a genius in comparison.

Saban never allowed OCs to completely take over the offense. They had to run the Saban offense, and add their own flair to it.

That being said, Grubb probably would've been asked to leave after one year.

Who would you have hired?

Through his time at Washington he actually had a resume that would have been attractive to Saban. He actually had offenses that ran the ball a decent amount of the time. Something changed when he went to Seattle.

Scott Huff may have been a big factor in run game coordination and moderating his tendencies?

Probably.

DeBoer could fix this with one meeting.

Major Applewhite did more with less.

Think about it...he loses A-A center Antoine Caldell and another starting OL literally on the morning of the Tennessee game, and then proceeded to take John Chavis to the woodshed.

Scott Huff

I had forgotten about him, thank you. Believe Coach Saban tried to get Huff for OL another time as well, after Marrone left?

I’m getting downvoted for my post but I stand by it, DeBoer can fix this by calling Grubb in and saying “We worked to fix the running game, use it or find another job.”

Rees is in the NFL. Grubb bout to get run out of T-town.

Apparently that doesn't work with Grubb. He ignores ultimatums from his boss and does whatever the frick he feels like. Got him fired from the Seahawks and hopefully will get him fired here too.

Jim McElwain would be undefeated with this offense.

BOB would be undefeated with this squad.

I said what I said.

Rees has been doing pretty well with the Falcons. I think we all underestimated his ability to scheme with a year 1 Milroe. Hell, he worked with what he had and almost had us in the title game.
