I think they're equal. They just play different positions.

People keep saying Derrick Henry, but Julio is a shoo-in HOF WR. Julio might be in the top 5 WRs to ever play football. I meannn, come on

Julio destroyed the combine. He's a huge WR with maybe the quickest acceleration in the game. I saw a simul-cam of his 40 yard dash recently with a couple of guys who ran faster than him, but for the first 10 yards he was clearly ahead of everyone. His first 3-4 steps of acceleration are insane

Not really what the poster is asking. Terry Bradshaw is a HOF QB with four rings, but no one would ever suggest that he was a freak of nature.

I agree with what the other guy said. Julio is a freak obviously but guys like Fitzgerald, Megatron, Metclaf, etc. are a similar level of freakish if not more. But there’s not a guy quite like Henry.

HOF doesn’t mean freak of nature though. Marvin Harrison had a HOF career, but I wouldn’t call him a freak of nature. Being in the HOF requires a lot of things but you don’t necessarily have to be freakishly athletic. Henry has the talent to be in the HOF too, it depends on his durability, but the talent is there.

Crazy how durable Henry is too. I think he broke his foot as a freshman or something, but besides that, I don't recall ever seeing him even look shaken up on the field or anything.

What did that boy eat growing up?

THIS ^ is as impressive as anything.

He is made of a different material, or he was born on krypton. Yeah, Henry is the most freakish FB player I've ever seen, and that goes all the way back to his HS reel. Dude rushed for like 400 yards a game. Nobody could catch him, and if they did they couldn't tackle him. ??

Julio.

Henry wasn't even good unless he got in the open field.

Let the down votes commence.

Well that’s dumb.

First of all the question asked who is a bigger freak of nature. Name me one other RB that has Henry’s combo of size, speed, acceleration, durability etc. I can name some receivers who were built like (or even better) then Julio.

Secondly it isn’t always about getting into the open field. It’s also about being a workhorse. Dude was just as fresh on his last carry as he was on his first. Most guys that have 30 carries in back to back games will be winded at the end. Not Henry, dude would still be a threat to outrun the entire defense for a long gain or TD by that 60th carry in 2 games.

Henry carried that offense in some drives and some games. He had plenty of games with far more total touches then Coker, the QB, had passing attempts. Which is something you don’t see much in today’s offenses.

Third Henry got into the open field a lot. It’s like saying if you take away all his big plays, he doesn’t look as good. You can make that argument for every player.

Fourth (and probably the most ludicrous statement) what you’re saying is not just that Julio is better but that Henry was largely above average at best most of the time. Consider how many RBs there have been in all of CFB ever. You’re saying Henry is a little above average at best over all those thousands.
