Might be a lingering ankle sprain.

On one of the practice reports this week they mentioned that #77 Womack was working behind #73 at left tackle.

Why would we play Womack at LT?? Why wouldnt we slide Leatherwood there and put Womack at RG?? Putting Womack at LT is a horrible idea.

Saw a report that Womack has taken some snaps with first team at LT this week.
Hope Jonah isn't dinged up.

My guess is that because Tua is left handed, RT is where you put your best tackle instead of LT, as his blind side is switched.

Sounds like Jonah will be good to go for the game, but I'm guessing will make an early exit.

Good fricking God y’all. Stop with the attacks on anyone that questions a personnel decision. Makes you sound like sheep. It’s a legitimate question. Leatherwood was great at LT in the NCG and Womack has played right side his entire career. We all trust Saban, but it is a interesting development. Stop acting like LSU fans.

Amen. Womack has played pretty well so I am not worried about it either way especially this week.

20-25 years ago, I would've agreed with you all day long and twice on Sunday. With the offense evolving to the primary formation of shotgun, there isn't really as much "the blindside is where you want your best OT". The old traditional, under center pro-style offenses needed that OT because of the dropback of the QB and an edge rusher could beat those slower tackles. With the shotgun, QBs are lined up 5 yards back and can see if an OT is getting beat off of the edge and either step up into the pocket if clean or escape the pressure without taking that hit.
Besides, Jonah is our best and most proven OT. Why didn't he go back to the right side like his freshman year if this "blindside" protection was still a thing?

I also think it speaks volumes that both Leatherwood and Willis ended up on the right side,
with regard of protecting Tua back side.
You would think jonna would have been shifted back there once Tua won the spot.
That would have simply kept Leatherwood at the LT spot he filled in for during the National title game.
Again not only did Leatherwood get moved to the right side but also slid inside.
So even now with Jona out we are keeping 70& 74 on that right side.
I think Womack makes for a better guard than tackle and even when he was a starter I thought he was good against power rushers.
But the speed rusher would get pass him more than they should.
I think it's because he's not as fast as he should be out his stance for a tackle and that's also, why I think Willis beat out Leatherwood for the tackle spot.
SIDE NOTE
I really like what I saw of Scott Lashley last year when back up linemen got minutes.
I really think this kid gonna be a player for us.

You are aware Tuas blindside is the right side, right?

I doubt he is, plus swapping sides is not an easy change for tackles.
