This is the correct answer. The “blindside” for the most part is relic of the past when it comes to actual practice. The idea just hasn’t made its way into the common fan’s collective football consciousness yet.

Exactly. Saban has addressed this in the past a few times. He's says something along the lines of changing the assignment for 2 guys vs one guy doesn't make sense.
