Was there also. We had over 500 yards of offense. I don’t think they had 200. We had like 5 turnovers and I believe that’s the game siran stacy got hurt and a wide receiver also. Shitty day.

Main takeaway from this thread: the average age for posters on this board is old as frick. Explains so much.

I had been before, but the Miami game in Tuscaloosa in the 70s was the first I really remember. It was on TV and the first game they turned on the lights I believe too. It started late afternoon.
Jim Kelly was like 2-15 with 3 Int’s.

exactly. From the looks of it there are some posters in their 70's in here. Not that there is anything wrong with that

First game was the 1990 game vs. USM. We sat fairly close and I remember watching Gary Hollingsworth warm up before the game. Even though he threw a bunch of INTs, 9 year old me thought that Gary might have been the coolest dude to ever walk on the field. I didn’t even consider that Favre guy on the other side.

1961 Alabama v Miss State; I was 10.
Many games since then; my son’s and grandson are huge fans even though they grew up in Illinois. My daughter could care less about football and to top that off she’s an Ohio State grad (Pharmacy grad)….son in law is a “typical” OSU grad/fan………

The 1926 Rose Bowl. Great game.

Oops…..forgot….
Last Bama game was the baseball game here in Huntsville a couple of weeks ago. Great crowd; grandson was visiting and we planned his visit around that game. 3rd year in a row we’ve made the baseball game here.

2016 Cotton Bowl vs Michigan State. Accidentally bought tickets in Michigan State section. Fun evening.

I have literally only been to 1 Bama game in my life in any sport since I live out of state. The unfortunate part was it was in 2010 in Columbia for the USC game where Bama somehow lost 35-21 as they could not stop Alshon Jeffery. Those USC fans were absolutely brutal as we left the stadium and all the way back to the car. Me and my uncle, who has since passed from cancer, were called every cuss word that exists. Not that I started with any respect for there fans, but man do I now have zero respect for them.

Pretty rough start in all three main sports for me.
1982 Lsu 20 Bama 10 at Legion Field. Bear's last season. Walter Lewis turnovers.
1987 Basketball Kentucky led by Rex Chapman beat us in Coleman. Halftime newly hired Bill Curry was introduced to the crowd.
1988 Baseball in Huntsville Auburn beat us at Joe Davis Stadium where the Huntsville Stars played.
Frank Thomas hit a few moon shots.
So many big wins I witnessed after those losses.

quote:That was a talented but green secondary. And the pass rush was still adjusting after losing some serious edge pressure from the previous year's squad. Offense was good, but we couldn't get USC's off the field. It really showed initially in the Arkansas game, and would become a running theme.

1989 Tennessee game at Legion Field is the first game I remember being at when I was 7. I went to some games in Tuscaloosa in earlier seasons, but I don't remember them

I was in school and attended that Ga. Tech game with my brother in 1962. With seconds left I said to him Bryant will run the ball to the middle of the field on third down and kick a field goal. My four year older brother to my disbelief said no he is going to throw the ball. They did and it was intercepted. I ask him why he predicted that and he said Bryant wanted to score a touch down. The first game I attended was in Tuscaloosa in 1949.
