Honest answer to No. 1? Neither you nor I or anyone posting on this forum knows with metaphysical certitude, and anyone who says he does is lying because he's pissed off about events.
Honest answer for No. 2? We're going to win out because this is my team and I'm going to show confidence that we're going to win out until I'm shown otherwise. That's not sunshine pumping, it's called supporting my damn team.

You said Ty Simpson has been known to be careless with the football...yea that was 2 years ago!
Ask anybody with knowledge of the spring/summer practices this year if he had those problems.
Don't worry I'll wait!
By the way, Jalen Milroe has been inconsistent and careless his entire career with the football and he was the same way in spring and summer practices!

I bet you would've still beaten Georgia and like I said before by a WIDER margin.
Georgia defensive backs have no answer for Williams nor Bernard.
We caught how many interceptions? Take that into account
We would've won easily.

I'll have some of what he is drinking. But until I'm that drunk, SHOW ME.

0-7 IF they lockeroom does like they did last year. They were pissed and showed their support in the game. If they act that way this year if Milroe is benched, it won't make any difference who is playing QB.

It's impossible to state what our record would be with Simpson starting. I don't know that the team was ready to rally behind him instead of Milroe at the beginning of the season.
Now, though, I think the offensive players, particularly the receivers, are ready for the switch. Simpson doesn't have the arm strength Milroe does -- not many quarterbacks do -- but I firmly believe he's able to process the game faster and make better decisions on when and where to throw it. Or to take off running when his first three options are covered. I have maintained all along our offense would be more consistent with Simpson at the helm. Likely not as explosive, but we wouldn't feel as boom or bust for long stretches of a game.
Now watch -- Simpson will get the start against Missouri and look like crap. But at this point I think starting him is the best thing to do for the team -- and honestly, for Milroe as well. Milroe has regressed visibly over the past three weeks, and he's not even as good now as he was in 2022 when he came in during the Arkansas game when Bryce got hurt.

If the lockerroom is pissed like last year and refuses to block or give 100% effort, then bench their butts too! Play the second string and look towards next year. When you cave to the team and let the players make decisions, then you've lost it and the team.

LOL. I actually don't drink anything stronger than wine. I'm just not going to say the apocalypse is on us until I hear the hoofbeats. And if this ends up being a year where we've got to get some rot out and suffer some pain for the long-term good of the program, so be it. What does not destroy me makes me stronger.

Ty is prone to bail out of the pocket too quickly, he also freezes sometimes when he sees the rush coming and had 4.91 speed at the Elite 11? as a Sr in HS Nevertheless, he is a decent-good athlete and has much better game and field awareness than JM for whom that is a serious weakness (probably the worst I’ve ever seen for a major college athlete). We have little idea of how well he throws the deep ball and he does not seem to have much presence on the field. He seems small.
He continued to have leadership issues early in the year, dropping the ball before crossing the goal (if Jalen had done this a segment of the fan base would have seceded from the program), he followed that up by disrespecting a ref by not handing him the ball appropriately. This after the unfortunate internet post last year. Don’t know what his teammates think about him. Hopefully, he has grown up some in a meaningful way. I’m sure Jalen has been a good example for him, as he seems to respect Jalen, which is a good reflection on both.
In summary, the season is not necessarily over in terms of the playoff. Secondly, we have no idea if Ty will be an improvement this year or if he will be next year’s starter.

It’s very hard to take your post seriously when you start with “he has 4.9” speed when everyone has seen him run.
Especially the whole 80 yard run he had last year

Nobody knows if Simpson will be better, but I’d like to see if him in there before Baton Rouge.

Simpson does NOT have 4.9 speed. Give me a freaking break. He's clearly not as fast as Milroe (few QBs are) but he's a much, much shifter runner than Milroe, he can juke guys. Milroe can't do that.
The knock on Simpson early on (when he first arrived in Tuscaloosa) was that he was way, way too nervous and tight and thought he had to make insane throws to win the job. As such, he sometimes tended to throw ill advised passes (e.g. throw the ball into very tight coverage or throw the ball back across the field, which is generally a no no). I don't have any inside information on this, just the comments of people who had been at practice early on.
I seem to recall reading he's gotten more confidence in practice, so that's good. He doesn't have the arm strength of Milroe but I guarantee you he can throw a more consistent short or intermediate throw that guys can catch.

You go to practice to see this? You sure haven't seen him do this in 2024.

Again, I do not have inside information personally, just reading from people who have seen him in practice. Are they lying and just making sh*t up? No idea, but I do find it interesting that more than one person has said much the same. And no, I didn’t “bookmark” any of this.
I have seen him juke people and make them miss this year and last. He’s also made some nice short and intermediate throws this year and last. He’s also attempted a few boneheaded throws.
Is that a “guarantee” he can make throws as a starter? No, but it’s reasonable to think he could make those as starter. If you want some kind of “guarantee”, buy a toaster.

Funny thing is that’s exactly what Milroe has been doing as of late. And although Milroe is faster he hasn’t been using his legs as much on non designed QB run plays. So he might as well be a very immobile QB in passing plays. Also Milroe has game experience but is out here playing like he has the understanding of a freshman
Point is everything some people might be concerned about with Simpson, Milroe has been exhibiting on the field in live games the last few weeks. Might as well see if Simpson has improved from any possible issues he had because Milroe is very unlikely to return to his early season form all of sudden
