What can our offense do to find success against UGA?

IMO, the key factor of the game for us is whether our offense can stay on the field and put up points. Can we win with a stock performance by our offense?

Someone give me a break down of what vulnerabilities UGA has on defense and if we’re capable of exploiting them.

they gave up 5.4 ypc vs OU

That doesn't exactly hurt my feelings.

Against Baker Mayfield. Couldn't load the box.

The gameplan against us is the same. Stop the run...... Their defense is pretty good so it'll be a tough game and may even fall on jalens arm to win

We don’t exactly have OU’s offense or even the balance that OU has.

We definitely had some issues in the first half tackling Anderson. This game is going to be 2012 epic IMO.

OU has running success before baker got going and after they shut him down.

UGA Def is ranked quite a bit lower than Clemson.

I think we can run on them.

Insert Tua as starting QB. Bring Lane back to call the plays. Also above all run the ball.

You'll never convince some people that it matters.

edit: Course, your guys still have to prove they can do it vs Alabama, regardless who's behind center. Call me Captain Obvious. Still, I think your point is a good one.

I’m not sure what you mean. They still had to respect Mayfield the entire game.

Receivers catching the ball is important. I know we have many threads about who should be QB but assuming it's Jalen then the receivers have to step up.

Right on targets are a must (Sims dropped an early one on 3rd down in the first half against Clemson which would have been a 1st down -- that can't happen).

For any throws that are even remotely catchable then they have to be caught. Last years championship game none of the receivers made difficult catches until Stewart's catch on the final drive.

You always hear when QBs are struggling then the receivers need to help them out so again assuming Jalen is QB (and we have been talking about how he needs to play) then the receivers need to step up.

Do what we did against Clemson in the 1st half and the QB has to complete the big plays that are schemed open.

I’m not asking for Jalen to pick apart the defense. I’m not asking for 300 yards and pinpoint passes. All I want is some efficiency from him tomorrow. If it’s 3 & 7 and we have a wide open receiver, don’t throw a grounder that takes a lot of effort to be caught.

Absolutely agree. Jalen has to absolutely step up. Only point I was making is when he is struggling please receivers help out and catch some balls.

^^^This^^^^ Our receivers have been abysmal catching anything that's not basically real simple. And even the simple ones are dropped at times. Against Auburn we had an easy ball dropped that killed a drive. Ridley dropped a very catchable ball to kill a drive. Of course Cam Sims last week. We've had multiple pass interferences where that receiver probably could have caught the ball but just didn't. Ridley probably should have caught the poorly thrown flea-flicker last week. Last year's title game Clemson made numerous difficult catches. We didn't do squat to act like we wanted to win on offense.

Ridley may be a great route runner, but he is not a great receiver.

Yep. Make the open throws, especially on plays where we draw up a play to specifically get 1 guy open and he is open like he is supposed to be. There is no excuse for that ball not to be delivered on time and on target.

Stop it guys you're making too much sense! Don't u know everything is jh's fault?? No all kidding aside it goes hand in hand. Catchable balls need to be caught and jalen needs to be more accurate at times

Drops happen in every offense, but considering our passing game is pedestrian at best, our margin of error is extremely small.

We caught passes like that in 2015. To your point, I'm ready for our offense to quit being a benign asset. We have way too much talent for that. Go out there with a sense of urgency, dominate, and win the friggin game.

Yep. Agree here too. The difficult throws are one thing but wide open guys Jalen has to get the ball to them on target. Again if he is scrambling for his life that's one thing but with with any kind if time -- hit the open receiver with a good throw
