#1 class in the SEC. Finished right behind Clemson for the top overall class. Who knows? Maybe we'll get another commit or two before February?

Most importantly, however, we got recruits who filled our needs. The rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated, gentlemen.

The only ones who think we are done are delusional LSU fans on the Rant

Alabama had a good day.

LSU had a bad day. White Cam Newton is their best shot in a decade, they better make it count. Don't see them having a good QB or hanging on to their OC.

That's because they constantly oversell themselves. They think because they won the SEC, went undefeated, and finally defeated Alabama, that they were going to go out and sign everyone.

Sometimes it doesn't work like that.

Have been treated great every time me and mine have went. The needle dick new money LSU fans on this site represent that fan base poorly. I'll be attending next year as well.

My wife and I went last year. Loved it. Had fans asking if we were being treated well. No bad behavior at all from LSU fans.

Next season we are planning on combining the WWII Museum and Death Valley.

And honestly we should be ranked #1 by a wide margin. Recuiting sites give WAY too much weight to 5-stars, when 4-stars are basically just as good.

I think the best way to look at recruiting is to combine the number of 4/5 stars you get, and if you do that, we’re way out in front.

Clemson’s 6 five stars are the only reason they’re ahead

Lol, I'm a bama fan, but no. There is often a significant gap between, say, the best QB in a class and the 5th best, even though that 5th best QB is often a high 4 star.

Just look at the difference between 1st round vs late 3rd /early 4th round NFL contracts to get an idea how much more valuable a top-32 player is than a top 100 player.

Meh it's all relative. Last 5 recruiting classes. 5 star players Ben Davis, Eyabi Anoma, Antonio Alfano, Kendell Sheffield, Blake Barnett. All seemed can't miss. How'd they work out? 5 stars have higher upside but they bust like anybody else.

Agreed. I guess there is also a significant difference in accuracy between evaluating a high school senior vs a college Junior or senior, which would suggest higher variance/lower correlation with rating vs. success for the younger guys. In other words, maybe 4 stars and 5 stars aren't really as different as I thought when I made my last post.

Hell I don't know, I'm just some random dude on a message board.

Talent matters. My goodness, my grandkids can pick the top 4 or 5 teams out of the pack every season. The rest of the dynasty has always had a lot to do with stuff coach Saban likes to call, "the Process" or playing to the "Alabama Standard" and who can forget "Built by Alabama."

Step one of the reload is pretty much complete. Step 2 should be happening any day now.

Kendell Sheffield

Eh... he didn't work out for us, but he had a solid career at Ohio State, and is starting in the NFL.
