Red Zone O has pretty much gotta be a run because in that compressed area, there are too many bodies around to trust the guy throwing.

Unfortunately, this is true. You simply can't risk him throwing a pick on the goal line.

Two things can be true.

They were 6-1, and not very good. We went out and beat them by a score you should beat a team that isn’t very good by.

It wasn’t pretty, but that’s fine since this isn’t a beauty contest. If we play that poorly on offense against LSU, we lose. Hopefully we won’t.

This is a team that can beat anyone they play. Other than Mercer we can lose to anyone left on our schedule too. The sooner people can accept that this isn’t a Saban coached team anymore and that there isn’t another coach in the nation we could have gotten who would be doing any better the happier they will be.

We’re mortal, get used to it.

They were really banged up - I know that is the way the ball bounces sometimes - but things would have been a little different if two of their weapons weren't injured (QB and RB). But I will still take it. And it pleased me to shut them out. One thing that last MO drive showed us though... is how bad our depth is because MO ran right through the second string like it was nothing

Honestly there isn’t a team in the country that is completely dominant. That makes me feel better about Bama’s current position and what things will probably be like going forward.

You are correct with those statistics, but anyone with a functioning brain can see that their defense was exhausted because their offense was decimated by injuries and couldn't sustain drives. Their defense did hold our offense in check for the entire first half until they wore down. Anyone can look at that game objectively and realize our passing threat is pathetic.

A shutout is a shutout. That's pretty hard to do in this day of cfb.

No matter the circumstance, I'll take it. Hopefully, it instills some confidence and forges the team going into the final stretch.

throws, but he also had some drops

I don’t recall any “drops”? I think you mean there were no circus catches yesterday on poorly thrown balls by Milroe.

There were definitely some issues offensively in the first half that we need to clean up

I’m skeptical those problems get cleaned up in two weeks.

#6 Prentice had some really bad drops yesterday and #9 Mbakwe made a mess out of catching two punts and got a penalty on punt coverage as well.

Prentice has had a so so year so far. That is a lot of so so's.

Did he drop any where he wasn't diving for the ball?

I can think of only one that was a drop. He completely laid out for a ball that he should’ve caught, BUT a better throw makes it an easy catch and run.

There was a long throw where 6 was running a corner, but the ball went inside. He got at least one hand on it after trying to adjust, but I wouldn’t put that on him at all. It was a throw to the wrong side. A good throw would have been a TD.

Mount Cody could beat Young in a 50 yard dash

I think Mizzou’s backup QB is what broke them but regardless Alabama had less than 100 penalty yards (sad that is an accomplishment) and no turnovers. So we didn’t frick around and let them ever have a shot once Cook went down. It’s a small win but a win

As a player I heard it said many times, if it hits you in the hands, you’re supposed to catch it. It’s usually because it hit me in the hands and I didn’t catch it. When that happens, it’s a drop. You can’t expect your quarterback to throw it perfect every time and not have the same expectations for the receivers

Right but I don’t recall any hitting right in the hands. There were some overthrows off the fingertips. No circus catches as I said. We need the receivers to make circus catches again in two weeks. Just need to clean that up. LOL.

Bama is 1-1 vs top 10, 1-1 vs top 25...all with serious lockeroom issues. Id say Bama has the right coach

I’m sure with all their players they are, my statement was the team we played isn’t. Missing a bunch of players.

They were missing a starting LB and a rotational DE from that top 10 defense.

They were missing a bunch of talent on offense, but your whole point was that Mizzou defense wasn't anything special, despite being ranked in the top 10 in a bunch of different categories.
