If he's ahead of schedule there's a real possibility he could be back for the Semis.

User 7bama7, who has been confirmed to be a doctor of some sort, posted this on RBR after watching the Waddle video:

quote:

The EMG is very cool.
Everyone knows that once the cast is off a simple fracture, it’s all about getting the unused leg muscles back up to strength. The EMG measures electrical activity in the muscles (just like EKG does for the heart muscle).

They are measuring JW’s hamstrings (see electrode placement). On the laptop, injured leg is the top tracing, good leg is the bottom tracing; each squat generates a set of peaks.

Looks like he still has a good bit of rehab still to do. I bet the dynamic S&C duo has a plan for this. Hopefully they will show us this same shot again in two weeks. All I want for Christmas is JW healthy for the playoffs.

I think Waddle, if medically cleared, could probably play on less practice than most guys. I don't know if the semifinal is realistic, but I think the title game is, provided there are no setbacks.

Had a good talk with Waddle last night

He really has no idea what he is going to do. He said he hasn't decided if he will play in the natty game if he gets the green light. He just has his blinders on trying to get back to 100% and thinking about coming back next year because he loves the college life and thinks he can improve his draft status like Smitty. He just has to get through the season and go home and talk to his parents.

I think we need too start petitioning for the Playoffs to be pushed back at least two more weeks.

That should do it.

Jaylen needs to get ready for the Pro Days and the 2021 Draft.

I love him making plays for Bama, but it's time to plan for his future.

He was so great.I wish him nothing but the best.

If he's back and practicing by the natty, why wouldn't we consider giving him 15-20 snaps? I doubt he'll play a whole game, but give that kid 15 snaps and that may be a TD or two.

haha. If nothing else, he'd make a heck of a decoy and free up Smitty for some big plays. If 17 is on the field, they have to honor it.

If he's cleared and he's 100% and he wants to play, there's no reason not to play him as you regularly would. If he is putting himself at extra risk in any way he shouldn't play at all.

i'd love to see jw17 on the field in the playoffs. but unless hes planning on coming back next year, i'd say go on and prepare for your future.

if he's healed up I don't care if he's the number 1 nfl pick, I hope he plays again for Alabama if he wants to

Now that would shock me. I know he's been out of protective gear for a bit but you'd figure he needs a bit of time to train his body back to normal

I agree. I'm skeptical at this point, but he looks to be on track to play in CFB playoff.
