You guys can try to spin it how you like but the big victory for us as Boz stated was when the committee showed they valued us by ranking us 13th and using us as a wall against Ole Miss and SC. That was our opening. The teams we needed to lose have lost.
I also, have a hunch that Alabama is going to move up above Miami in the rankings this week and it is really just a matter of how the championship week plays out. Probably need Texas, SMU, and Oregon to win. I suspect that the results of Big-12 and MWC do not matter since the winners are both playing for an auto-bid. I do not think Boise State is in the field with a 2nd L.

When does the coaches and AP come out today?

Alabama lost by three touchdowns to a 6-6 team one week ago.
Great.
The committee saw that loss and still ranked us 13th, ahead of Ole Miss and SC.
Guess what?
They also ranked Ole Miss ahead of SC. Why? We both beat SC and head-to-head matters.. it isn't just something you bring up to keep Alabama out

You’re ignoring South Carolina going on the road and beating a top 15 team while Alabama struggled with a 5-7 team and looked like shite.

The actual reality is the committee has ranked us ahead of Miami with 2 losses when they had 1.
I agree with most of the rest of your post.
Miami wining yesterday and next week would have been a much better opening, though.

I hear ya about the loss, but this committee doesn't seem to actually follow football... They look at popularity... Then feelings... Then schedule... Then quality of wins and losses. People would like to see Alabama in. If nothing else, than to see them get beat by some big 10 team.

I don't even think the Clemson-SMU result matters.
Clemson lost to every SEC team they played. SMU hasn't beaten a ranked team all year and lost to BYU.
SMU is in the same boat as Miami. They better win because their SOS is back and they don't have a top 25 win.

Good for them.
We beat UGA. We also beat that same SC.
Guess who beat them by 24 at home? Ole Miss.

They want smu because it's a Disney feel good story. Same with Indiana. They aren't looking at the actual product on the field.

Fair point. I sorta knew that Clemson was out with a L but wondered if a 2nd L would get SMU cleanly out of at-large bid territory.

No it wouldn't have. Anyways need results now, not later.
What we do know is self-hating Alabama fans want Alabama to be punished for losing to Oklahoma, yet they still don't realize the committee after that loss still ranked Alabama ahead of Ole Miss and SC

South Carolina looked like shite most of that game too

Are you drunk?
Those people are thinking about ratings and money draw.
They respect SMU so much they just cracked the top 10 only having one loss to BYU.

Looking like shite and winning against a ranked team looks better than looking like shite and turning the ball over four times - at home - against a team that isn’t even going to a bowl.

Exactly
These SC truthers are making it seem like the drummed Clemson when they were struggling all game and pulled the win with the last drive.
The same Clemson team got destroyed by UGA.
The same UGA team we bear weeks later
In the end people just try to force an unrealistic standard on us....
We have to win every game by blowout
We have to play perfect defend and offense
We have score every possession
Etc
We lost our first game and people were saying that means we should be out. It's ridiculous. They do the same after every loss we have every season

What has SC done since losing to Alabama?

Well Alabama beat the Mizzou team SC struggle won against two weeks ago by 34 points.
Does that count?
How about destroying possible new top 25 LSU in BR... same LSU they lost to in OT.
Does that count?
You guys sound pathetic. You want to ignore everything we do well and hyper-magnify our mistakes all while ignoring all their mistakes and hyper-magnifying their success.
SC lost to Alabama
SC lost to Ole Miss
You can't just wish that away or use "how I feel!" to make those clear loses go away.
That is why we were ranked ahead of them

Once you get down to those last couple of teams there's a near certainty that you're going to be talking about a few ugly losses and debating 9-3 vs. 10-2 records with some talented but flawed teams. People want to apply the old playoff standards to the new playoff and you really can't do that when the field is 3x bigger. Some teams with warts on their resume are going to get in. If the goal is a competitive postseason, you really can't justify a team with no good wins in those last couple of spots because they have no proven ability to beat a playoff caliber team. Us, OM, and South Carolina do. Miami does not.

Very well said.
We all have bad losses at this point. They are just trying to grade us at a different standard.
We destroyed some good teams this year as well

Because three losses is bad and one of those three losses happening eight days ago when Alabama controlled their own destiny is worse.
SC’s losses aren’t as bad, even if one of them is Alabama.
Blown out by Ole Miss is better than blown out by Oklahoma (which South Carolina destroyed in Norman)
Close loss at Alabama is better than close loss at Vandy
Stop acting like it’s a crime to have an opinion that Alabama doesn’t deserve it and that South Carolina has earned it over the last month.
