Who, Shackelford? Not sure how you can compare a 6'3 guard to a "5'10" guard

That's a pretty bold comparison and mark up

Was referring to his abilities, quickness, driving and shooting ability. Not size.

Bigger, more athletic Jared Harper.

I mean, he's 6'2"-6'3", so it's really more that he's skinny. That's easily fixable now that Ponytail is gone and they'll be lifting weights instead of Playstation controllers. He's a D-1 athlete. That is enough to qualify someone as athletic. He's not Collin Sexton though. That's not his game at all.

Looks like Pettway will officially be retained. Not shocking.

There is no way his speed compares to Harper. Harper just blows up the defense of every team with his speed. He has to be the fastest bball player in the country and its not even close from what I have seen.

Ya. What he is describing is a top 5-10 recruit and one of the biggest recruiting eval misses of all time.

He reminds me of a slightly taller Lawson Schaffer. I think he can be a good player, but he's not "a more athletic Jared Harper."

His size is all thats keeping him from being in the top 50.

He is listed at 6'3. There are 8 players in the top 50 (247) that are 6'3 or smaller. Last year 17YO Kira Lewis at 6'3 160lb was #39, one of 9 players 6'3 or smaller in the top 50

I really like Harper, but if Shackelford comes in and averages 13.4 PPG after his first 3 seasons on sub-40% from the field, are we really going to label that guy as “one of the biggest recruiting eval misses of all time”?

I don’t agree at all with that comparison though, especially the “more athletic” part. Shackelford uses craftiness, dribble set ups, and his known ability to shoot stepbacks to get by his man more than speed and quickness. He’s crafty, not ultra-quick.

Harper being short is only reason he wasnt a top 50 player IMO. If Shackleford is as good as him we hit a HR

In the proposed hypothetical, you wouldn't expect a more athletic 6'3 G with similar skillset to outperform a less athletic 5'10 G?

quote:

13.4 PPG after his first 3 seasons

So we just going to ignore that he is a PG who has been top 50 in Assist rate the past 2 years?

quote:

sub-40% from the field,

With OatzNhoez, you better get used to using eFG% and not FG%. Harper this season is at 50.6% eFG. For comparison, Sexton only was at 49.8% eFG last season

quote:

“one of the biggest recruiting eval misses of all time”?

A 6'3 G who is more athletic than Harper with his skillset is a very obvious one and done lotto pick.

For that player to be a fringe top 100 is a huge miss
