I do think we could beat any team in that field other than UNC....But could also probably lose to any of them.

No thanks, that's how you end up with posts asking if Avery Johnson is the best coach in the SEC and the like

Has anyone that pretends to know information surrounding the basketball program gotten anything right regarding timelines?

So much can change after a season under Oats.

I mean, maybe, or maybe it doesn't

At Alabama, then-head coach Avery Johnson tried to figure out ways to keep Sexton out of the gym late at night because he thought the freshman was overworking himself. In Cleveland, Sexton is known for going to the Cavaliers’ practice facility in Independence, Ohio, after games or road trips to get shots up with his father late into the morning.
Good article about Sexton

I mean, it's possible to work too much. It can't be healthy to play until 2AM all the time.

Well he works nights, so if he goes to bed at 3am and gets up at 10:30-11 I don't see why it would be unhealthy. As long as he has a regular schedule and gets enough sleep he's probably fine. Being 20 also helps.

Shackelford is ranked in the top 100 recruits for a reason. He is very athletic, can dunk with no problem and is fast. His size is all thats keeping him from being in the top 50.

And that reason is his shot/ball handling combination. He’s not unathletic, but he’s certainly far from “very athletic”.

Alabama coach Nate Oats expected to hire Charlie Henry to his staff, source told @Stadium. Henry has been a G-league head coach last couple years and was also on Fred Hoiberg’s staff at Iowa State.

My only concern is foot speed and quickness. That can only be helped a little with weight training.

So it's going to be Hodgson, Henry, and Pettway as on-court assistants with Adam Bauman as the DOBO?

This is a very, very low bar to set for a 6'3 guard
For context, I, of average athleticism, grabbed rim at 5'11 the other day and I'm 25lb overweight at 215.

247 write up of Shackleford
quote:
A quick athlete with average size, at best. Quick with the basketball. Scoring-oriented guard with a dangerous pull-up jumper who can make a slick pass. A good lefty shooter with some range. Needs to get stronger and more physical on the defensive end.

He reminds me of a more athletic Jared Harper.

I was talking about the Avery Johnson part. I doubt he could sleep in until 11AM every day at Alabama.
