Alabama signee Jusaun Holt has been solid over his last two games. He’s totaled 42 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, five blocks in that two-game span for @StFrancishoops1.
The Tide getting a 6’7 prospect with a very skilled offensive game, very versatile defender as well.

I'm going to try and go see JD Davidson Friday at 3pm in Montgomery. I didn't realize he played in 2A.

How? Didn't he basically drop out of high school to go work with some trainer to get ready to go undrafted and head to Israel or Australia?
To clarify, I'm talking academic eligibility not amateur status.

MID MARCH DECISION FOR BEDIAKO
One of the most closely watched recruitments left in the class of 2021 is that of big man Charles Bediako. Ranked No. 27 overall by 247Sports, the 6-foot-11 big man from Canada has been sitting on a final five of Alabama, Duke, Michigan, Ohio State and Texas for some time now.
Though a specific decision date hasn’t been set, it does look as if the talented post player’s recruitment is nearing a close. Recently, sources close to Bediako’s recruitment have indicated to me that he should be choosing by mid-March. That puts us roughly three weeks or so from Bediako revealing his college choice.
Nate Oats and Alabama have held a commanding lead in the 247Sports Crystal Ball ever since Bediako cut his list to five in the fall. The Crimson Tide have received 100% of the predictions and are certainly in a great spot. There has been some recent buzz that Michigan and Ohio State (who like Alabama are having strong seasons) could be making this one a little closer so it is a situation that we’ll be monitoring closely.
Regardless, the end does appear to be nearing on this one.

Interesting. Either our guys got bad info a while back or Bossi isn't very well informed.
Well you edited from "he's expected to pick Bama" to "Bama leads in the crystal ball." That's not even close to the same.

I wonder if Bediako even knows for sure where he is going yet. He said this 10 days ago...
Then he said this not a week later
I think he ends up at Ohio State or Alabama.
quote:\
“I know I said I was supposed to commit in January," Bediako said. "You know, stuff happened. I could commit at any moment now, but it will be at the latest March. Everyone will know by March.”

Talked with five-star senior Charles Bediako this morning. He told
@Stockrisers
that his decision is most likely going to come in March. I’d pretty much say very likely.
I think he ends up at Ohio State or Alabama.

Would like to have Bediako but With Tchikou getting up over 240 I think he is the PERFECT 5 for Oats system so I’m not gonna be sad if we don’t get him.
Then you add in a possible Bruner return and the Portal and it’s not that big of a deal if he doesn’t commit here

I agree with that. The only question with him is how soon does he fully recover from the achilles, it can take up to 12 months to fully recover from and he didn't have surgery on it til late October.
It's a good sign that he is already able to do some things 4 months post surgery.
He should be recovered by the time the season starts but if he isn't able to practice with the team much in the offseason it may take him a while to get the rust off.

Watching his video he can really shoot. He reminds me of a bigger better version of Reese. One that can handle the ball. With the touch he has he would have been nice to have right now.
If Reese and Bruner both did come back, along with this guy we'd be covered as far as bigs next year. The way they all shoot the so called rim protectors for the opposition will have to come out and the lane opens up.

Tchikou is incredibly skilled for a guy his size. He has NBA written all over him. He's also very raw though and has only been playing basketball for like 3 years so he may be here for a couple more years.
Where has it been reported that he's up over 240? He was like 205 when he came in so being on the shelf for a while with a torn Achilles a lot of that would probably be bad weight.

Impressive recruiting class out of the always solid SEC conference? Bama.
Nate Oats and the Tide bring in two outstanding high school prospects (Davison, Holt) and reel in a JUCO star in Langston Wilson.
Now, they’re ranked in the Top-10 this season and want to keep building.

Well if he was 226 in August it makes a lot more sense that he'd be 241. Looks like he's gotten a little soft, but that'll probably go away once he can start running again. Even then he definitely isn't skinny anymore. I miss being 18. Just look at some weights and drink a protein shake and you put on a pound of muscle.

IMPENDING COMMIT OF THE WEEK: Charles Bediak
By Rob Cassidy National Rivals Recruiting Analyst
I had the chance to catch up with four-star big Charles Bediako at IMG Academy over the weekend, and the conversation reinforced a few things I already believed. The new bit of information, however, was that the touted center plans to announce his college decision “sometime during the NCAA Tournament.”
Bediako said he is still considering Alabama, Texas, Duke, Michigan and Ohio State. He also said he plans to evaluate how each of his finalists play in early March before making the call later in the month. But his body language, word choice and facial expressions made me think the FutureCast I entered weeks ago remains the smart bet. Sometimes, you can read a lot between the lines.
Bediako seems downright smitten with Nate Oats and the Alabama staff.
And while I always hesitate to use the word “lock” because there’s no such thing, it’s gonna take some serious work (and luck) for anyone to steal the 6-foot-11 star away from the Tide at this point.

Both o f these highlight videos are short but I think they show that Bediako could be a good fit in our offense. He has kind of a weird stance, but a pretty smooth stroke from three. He of course does everything else well, blocks shots, rebounds, defense. I think the only question mark really is can he shoot well enough to fit into the offense, and I think he would be able to.

I hope we get him, if we don't it's not the end of the world, but I like the way he plays and think he would be a big addition.

I think the potential to develop into a decent spot up shooter is there. I wouldn't describe his shot as "smooth", but it doesn't look like Ben Wallace or Shaq or anything either so there's something to work with there. I'd say if there is any truth to that report about both sides cooling on each other over style fit it's probably got more to do with the fact that he's not very comfortable with the ball in his hands and we ask our bigs to pass and dribble a good bit.
