Kid's got some land in Union Springs with Hank Williams Jr and Jamie Johnson. They like to hang together. They enjoy the Devil's lettuce.
Kid and Jamie are cool but Hank is kind of a dick.

And no, this is not an April Fools thing. True story.

I thought Mike was the director of S & C?

quote:

Michael Snowden begins his second season at Buffalo after joining the staff from George Mason, his alma mater.
In his first year working with the men's basketball program at UB, Snowden helped the Bulls to a school record 27 wins, while Buffalo picked up its first ever win in the NCAA Tournament.
Snowden returned to George Mason in 2016 after serving as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant with the VCU men's basketball team during the 2015-16 season. He also served as a strength and conditioning intern with the University of Maryland football team (2015), the University of Mary Washington (2014) and at George Mason (2013-14). In addition, he worked as a sports performance coach with Strength and Performance Training, Inc., from 2014-15.
He graduated from George Mason in 2015 with his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. He earned his Master's degree in Sport Leadership from VCU in 2016. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He is also a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW) and a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
Snowden also spent seven years as active-duty military in the Navy. From 2005-09, he served on the USS George Washington and received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. From 2009-12, he served on Marine Helicopter Squadron One. He was awarded the Presidential Service Badge for his service to President Barack Obama and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

I thought It was either Yasir Rosemond or Pettway for the last spot?

He's bringing Snowden down to be over the basketball S&C. It doesn't count towards one of the assistant coaching spots

Head coach- Oats
1st assistant- Russian mafia guy
2nd assistant- Pett
3rd assistant- he'll look around and possibly take Bucky if he can't find someone

Ponytail's job- Snowden

I'm hoping the last coach hire has international connections and/or southeast reach. That way we cover midwest, northeast, south east and overseas.

According to what Oats said this evening, his staff will be Hodgson, an assistant from the previous staff but he hasn't decided which one yet, and probably another one of his guys from Buffalo. I think he wants as many of his guys to convey the system and culture as he can get and he'll keep one guy (probably Pett) for local connections.

I think he knows he’s choosing Pettway, but will make it official once he finds his final assistant. No reason to announce it and piss off the other guys when they could be helping.

I realize we’re still in the honeymoon phase but I’m more and more impressed with Oats every time I hear him speak. If he can nab Watford and install his system successfully next year, our 2020 team could look like this:

Kira Lewis (Jr)
Trendon Watford (So)
John Petty (Sr)
Herb Jones (Sr)
Raymond Hawkins (So)
Alex Reese (Sr)
Diante Wood (Jr)
Juwan Gary (So)
Jaylen Forbes (So)
Jaden Shackleford (So)
Plus whoever he gets next year

That’s a group with a ton of experience and potential.

I know it’s year 1, but I think the 2019 team is going to be dangerous as heck!..

PG: Kira Lewis/Jaden Shackelford
SG: John Petty/Jaylen Forbes/Diante Wood
SF: Juwan Gary/Herb Jones or (Herb Jones/Juwan Gary)
PF: Trendon Watford/Tevin Mack
C: Raymond Hawkins/Alex Reese/Javian Fleming

^ that team with good coaching makes the tournament easily.

How are ya'll feeling about Kira?

Seems almost 50/50 stay or go to me at this point. Louisville and few other good schools seem to be pursing him pretty hard, Duke's name is being mentioned but with Tre Jones probably returning Kira probably wouldn't be starting there right away.

He is basically the only PG we have with any college experience, I sure hope he stays.

Those frickers getting gassed. Really brightens my day.

Ripping Avery's poster off the wall. Made my day.

ETA: Kira Lewis is a phenomenal player. He has huge potential and we definitely would be a better team with him.

If he is still looking to transfer, he should. He is a complete moron if he is leaving because Avery is gone. Avery couldn't coach Sexton. Sexton's 1st half of the season blew until he figured out where to go for his shots.
