Bediako, Cardet and Davison

That would be the #4 overall class right now and #1 in the SEC.

And it seems like we are in a really great place with Cardet right now.

This is where that Corey Evans quote came from:

quote:

After finalizing a top-10 class in America earlier this month, thanks to the commitment and reclassification of Alex Tchikou, Alabama will have to strike in another major way in the 2021 class if it wants to keep climbing the SEC’s pecking order.

Fortunately for Nate Oats and his program, his staff has laid the groundwork with the some of the best players in America. One of those is Charles Bediako, a top-25 center that Eric Bossi addressed last week. The Canadian played travel ball with incoming Tide freshmen Josh Primo and Keon Ambrose-Hylton, and this fall he will play for the same prep program as Darius Miles. Alabama is in a dogfight with plenty of national powers but they are one of the favorites for Bediako.

The Tide also want a playmaking guard, which is why JD Davison, a top in-state prospect, is a primary target for them. They have also continued their discussions with Carter Whitt, Darius Johnson, James White, Chance Moore and Wesley Cardet, a four-star wing with whom they are in a great spot.

In the frontcourt, Alex Fudge, Mike James, Daimion Collins and Jusaun Holt are a group of Rivals150 prospects that Oats and his staff have continued to recruit.

While it would be a tremendous group, it is not out of the question that Bediako, Cardet and Davison pick Alabama, with at least one other top-tier transfer selecting the SEC program in the spring.

Good grief at having a class of #12, #20, and #101 in the Composite Rankings only getting you to 4th this far out from signing day...

New hoops offer Langston Wilson likes Tide's development

quote:

“Seeing how they play and what they do with their bigs especially, they just don’t have a bunch of guys that just stand around the rim and run to the rim and shoot hook shots. They’re really focused on developing their skill and elevating their game.”

Anything else good in this article?

Some more info about him from a different article I found:

quote:

Wilson played at Bonner-Prendie High School before choosing to attend Georgia Highlands College in 2018.

As a redshirt freshman during the 2019-20 season, Wilson played in 32 games, averaging 10.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, as the Chargers finished with a 24-8 record.

“It was a big learning experience coming off the bench for most of the year,” Wilson said. “I’m playing behind a lot of really good guys ... a lot of guys who can really score the ball in a variety of ways made it whereas there wasn’t much of a burden to score. Rebounding was big, also blocking shots and just being able to guard different people.”

Wilson stands at 6’9, but plays an all-around game a combo guard/forward. He shot 30.8 percent from three-point range, but was also able to finish inside with great leaping ability.

Being an all-around player, Wilson also was able to run the floor well for someone of his size and showed a great ability to put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket.

“The name of the game nowadays is position-less basketball and versatility,” Wilson said. “Being one of those players who can move to different spots is great. It’s what a lot of people are looking for and I’m glad people are able to recognize that I’m a versatile basketball player.”

“There’s no timeline on my decision right now,” Wilson said. “I plan on taking visits, talking to coaches a lot and just seeing where I fit best.”

Wilson would have two years of eligibility after transferring from the junior college ranks ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Something else I randomly found in another article:

quote:

Langston J. Wilson of Georgia Highlands college, doesn’t have the typical Basketball story. He never played high school basketball due to a medical condition, and was just cleared this pass season to play. Wilson is a 6’9 190 pound Athletic wing, his dunk fest windmill videos have went Viral. Langston understands his position. He’s humble and thankful for the opportunities that are coming his way. Langston father, Ron Wilson was a center on Villanova’s 1995 Big East championship team.

Looks like Petty is taking it down until the end. Hopefully him working with the team is good news.

Yeah I think he probably sees the writing on the wall but is still holding out hope that he is contacted by a team that tells him they're going to draft him. He probably really wants to go pro, but really doesn't want to go overseas given his family situation. That's why I was only half joking when I said he'd make an 11:59pm announcement on the 3rd.

Yeah, I feel bad for the guy. He obviously wants to go pro to take care of his family but the absence of a combine hurt his chance to do that. So he’s faced with the choice to either go overseas, which has its own set of pitfalls in today’s environment, or come back to Alabama and try and improve his stock. It’s pretty obvious what he’s got to do and is going to do, barring a buzzer beater phone call from the NBA. I hope he comes back and lights up the SEC.

Three days ago, Alabama’s Nate Oats and his staff virtually met with Top-50 sophomore Rodney Rice, he told @Stockrisers. The Tide are extremely high on Rice.

This is one that Oats is recruiting himself per 247.

This past season, I can’t name ten more players who watched their stock rise more than Omaha native Hunter Sallis. As far as our premier players nowadays, Sallis is definitely one of those guys. The 6-foot-5 guard has a very solid skill set. An elite athlete with major upside and an explosive offensive game.

For that reason, he is currently being pursued by nearly 20+ programs and tells Stockrisers.com that he will cut that down into a list ‘sooner than later’

“Really the blue blood programs that have recruited me are still involved. The schools around the area like Creighton, Nebraska, Iowa State, Then Florida, Alabama, Oregon, Louisville, UConn, and more,” Sallis said on who’s involved.

When we spoke to Sallis this winter, his plan was to try and commit this fall.

But, that might not be so realistic anymore. Like everyone else, Sallis is taking his visits virtually and meeting with coaches virtually as well. His plan prior to the COVID-19 pandemic was to take his campus visits and then cut down and make his choice, now he will continue his zoom calls and likely push his timeline back.

“I've had zooms with Kansas, UNC, Iowa State, Oregon, Alabama, Creighton, and Arkansas.”

As far as his timeline goes though, he says he’s unsure due to deadlines on in-person visits: “I plan on trying to wait to see if I can take visits because I really want to get a feel for the campus in person before I commit somewhere so that’s why I’ve been waiting so long.”

Since there’s no list cut, he hasn’t stopped new programs from getting involved in his recruitment.

Sallis said that he’s recently been in contact with Kentucky. He has yet to speak with head coach John Calipari, but, he says that he’s been talking with an assistant and they said they would love to watch more of him in-person. They’ve been watching his film and looking at games online. As far as his recruitment remains open, could see if UK bolsters more interest.

Looking at that timeline on his 24/7 page, seems to be blowing up in the past few days. What rock has he been under?
