Reminds me so much of the long term vision Saban brought compared to Shula's ineptitude game planning & recruiting.

Avery reminded me of Shula on many levels. The college game just wasn’t meant for either of them.

Obviously we have the Maui Invitational, but Oats said he wants 4-5 buy games, to start a home and home series with two teams (one at home and one on the road), a neutral game in Huntsville, and potentially a neutral game in Atlanta against a high major due to BJCC renovations.

I bet the University has pretty good insurance on Coleman. Since it’s a ghost town around there, it would be a damn shame if an electrical fire brought the whole place down

I hope he’s not soft. I guess I just need to adapt, because the sport has changed into a softer game. I grew up watching all hell break loose on the court. It was awesome

Oats had a 6’7 185 lb guard at Buffalo named Jeremy Harris who turned out to be pretty good (happened to be left handed too like Miles). He was 185 as a senior, Miles is 180 and still in HS. I think he will be fine. He has a pretty looking shot and good ball skills to be 6’7, a lot of potential even if he doesn't play much as a freshman. I could see him having a role as a freshman though who knows.

Jeremy Harris highlights in their tournament win over Arizona

Alabama Basketball Fans can look forward to the following players debuting for @nate_oats squad next season...
PG Jahvon Quinerly, 5*
SG Josh Primo, 5*
SG Keon Ellis, 4*
SF Juwan Gary, 4*
PF Keon Ambrose-Hylton, 4*
SF Darius Miles, 4*
F James Rojas, #4 Ranked JuCo

Basically a whole new team next year. Herb and Shack are probably the only 2 from this years team that get significant minutes on next years team if we get Bruner

I’m excited.

It was wonderful. Had Detroit and New York who would turn things into a street fight. That’s just how good Jordan was. He would get hit like crazy and keep coming at them and beat their asses. I miss old school ball

Now let’s just pray that we get to have a season . Let’s also pray that Michigan State doesn’t have to clean house next season.

Don’t like that we’re a Quinerly injury away from having nothing at the PG position.

If Oats wants to change the culture, he’s got to change the roster.

Reese is akin to Prince Hall when Saban took over. Hall was Shula good but Saban knew he wasn’t what he needed. Reese is Avery good but not what Oats needs.

If was Reese was Matt Bonner-lite I’d say keep him. But I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be hard to find someone willing to turn the ball over ad naseam and refuse to play defense.

Wonder who they'd match Bama against this year. I imagine it would be a road game this year. That is if we get invited. 4 SEC teams can't play in it

If they do it by previous year standings, then we should be in it. And what should be another pretty good P5 game

I thought they did it in 2 year cycles. Last year was the 1st year of new cycle and we were in it. So we will be in it again this year

Kira weighed like 155 pounds coming out of high school. There's a lot Miles has to work on, with strength being one of them, but he also has a pretty broad skill set. He has a decent looking shot with a quick release, he fits the physical profile of a guy who could become a fantastic defender, he can attack the basket, he has really good body control for a guy who is 6'7". There's a lot to like there, but it will probably take a year or two of development before seeing any payoff on the initial investment.
