Here’s one that could go either way – 2020 or 2021.
As Primo and his family reflect on the Creighton vs Alabama and an offer that came in from Illinois today, they have a strong resume to lean on from a standout All-Star performance in Chicago at BWB. Oregon and Ohio State are not to be counted out but there is the inclination that Creighton and Bama clearly lead.
The verdict – he’s looking for a run and gun team that shoots a lot of threes to compliment his game.
The one dimensional Primo is extinct, something of the past, no more.
Signs of a more complete guard game became evident during the summer in July on the Nike EYBL circuit with his running mate Bediako. The athleticism kicked in and now his handle tighter. J. P models his game after his favourite player Kyrie Irving.
“If that’s my favourite player I got to be able to handle like that. I’ m getting more confident with it and being able to create for others more.”

Top-25 junior Charles Bediako is one of the nation’s most polished big men. The Candian prospect plays with ASA and has had an outstanding year finding himself on the verge of a fifth star. He’s one of the most mobile big men, hosting major size on the court and being able to run the floor.
He also leads national recruitment, one so major that Coach K and Duke offered at the beginning of Bediako’s junior year. Michigan State, Alabama, Memphis, Ohio State, are among the programs involved for Bediako.
With such major recruitment varying from many conferences and him producing at the highest level on the court and in Fiba’s with Canada, several programs have given him the option of joining their program a year early and making a jump into the 2020 class. Bediako’s final answer on that, to Stockrisers.com: “I’m not reclassifying, reason being is I want to get stronger and improve my craft. In addition, there’s no rush for me leaving early.”
As far as visits, he hasn’t taken any official visits yet but says that he plans to begin planning those in March. Bediako’s focus is currently on the rest of his high school season and ultimately the beginning of AAU ball. As far as new programs or schools with interest who have yet to offer, he listed: Marquette, Memphis, Texas, Gonzaga, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Arizona State.
Illinois, Rutgers, Ohio State, Providence, TCU, Maryland, USC, Louisville, Michigan State, Duke, Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Xavier, are among his offers. He listed Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan State, Memphis, Maryland, and Louisville as programs that have been in to see him recently.

Yeah those are some good offers. He has pretty much his pick of anywhere he wants to go.

Now imagine that they are Alabama uniforms.

Saw that pic on twitter earlier and saved it. I'd love for it to happen I just feel like Bediako is gonna end up at Duke, they seem to want him bad. I hope I'm wrong. They were trying hard to get him to reclassify to 2020 though and he didn't so not sure if that effects their interest any.
I really haven't seen our name mentioned with him since October when those crystal balls went in for him to Alabama so it's hard to tell what's going on there.

I haven't either which makes me wonder how hard we are actually going after him now. Maybe something changed for us.

It sounds like Memphis is heavily involved, which means money is on the table. If that's the case I wouldn't blame them for backing off.

Just speculating, but the jet flew to Omaha this evening. Would not be surprised if Bama is in the building tonight to watch 2021 Hunter Sallis.

I think Petty and maybe Herb as well will bith test the NBA waters. Our guys have been notorious for declaring early and not making it smh.

What do you mean?

No chance on Herb, he knows he has no shot at the NBA unless he can develop a jump shot. Petty who knows, he will probably test the waters but there's no chance he will get drafted so I would expect him to come back unless he really needs money and wants to play in the G league.

He is probably talking about Kennedy Winston, he declared early didn't get drafted then played overseas for about 10 years.
JaMychal Green declared early too and went undrafted but got on with a summer league team and eventually made the NBA.
Richard Hendrix declared early and got drafted 49th but never got close to making the NBA. He should've for sure stayed another season. He is still playing professionally though he is currently playing for Osaka Evessa in the Japanese B league.

Those are both well over a decade ago.
I wouldn't call that notorious.

We haven't had enough players with NBA talent the last 10 years for it to be notorious lol.
Petty's kind of on the bubble, he is definitely good enough to get picked up by a g-league team but it's VERY doubtful that he would get drafted.
Would for sure make the most sense for him to come back next year, have a good year, easily get drafted in the top 40 go straight to the NBA, but a lot of guys don't use much sense when they make these decisions.
If he does leave we'll probably have to replace him with a transfer or juco because 90% of the good 2020 prospects have already signed, and the good ones that haven't we haven't been recruiting because we don't have any open spots.

I hope we are serious contenders for Jabari Smith next cycle. He looks like he could become a fantastic player in Oats' system.

Looks like we have a shot at him and I agree he would be perfect for this system.
