He would be our 13th highest rated recruit ever by my quick, possibly wrong math.

Live look at Will Wade and Penny Hardaway making last minute offers to Primo.

Yep - at least since they started keeping track back in 2005 or 2006. Gerald Wallace would be at the top with Sexton on this list (maybe above).
1. Collin Sexton (.9981)
2. Richard Hendrix (.9964)
3. JaMychal Green (.9942)
4. Devonta Pollard (.9913)
5. John Petty (.9878)
6. Levin Randolph (.9878)
7. Alonzo Gee (.9869)
8. Kira Lewis (.9865)
9. Ron Steele (.9859)
10. Senario Hillman (.9855)
11. Trevor Lacey (.9834)
12. Tony Mitchell (.9831)
13. Joshua Primo (.9816)
14. Braxton Key (.9769)
15. Albert Weber (.9767)

With him being so young, is he actually eligible for the NBA after his freshman season or will he have to stay a second year?
Posted on 2/19/20 at 3:28 pm to Chadaristic
He is eligible. ESPN article said he will be mocked in the first round the next time they update their 2021 NBA Draft.

Not sure but I Don’t think he is a one and done type player.
Posted on 2/19/20 at 3:28 pm to Chadaristic
The article said that he'd be eligible

Link to the article? Don’t doubt you just would like to read the article.

Josh Primo will reclassify to 2020 and enroll in college this summer, he tells ESPN. This move makes him NBA Draft eligible in 2021. Primo was the top NBA prospect at this weekend's Basketball Without Borders camp.

All drafted players must be at least 19 years old during the calendar year of the draft. To determine whether a player is eligible for a given year's draft, subtract 19 from the year of the draft. If the player was born during or before that year, he is eligible.
Now I see why. I thought you had to be 19 to be drafted, but you just have to turn 19 in the same calendar year and he will turn 19 in December of 2021 it looks like.

Thanks. Might have been, I could've missed it.

Why do ya'll think he is good enough to be drafted next year? He is good but I don't think he is THAT good. He may be good enough to go after his Sophomore year.

I have no clue - sounds like he lit it up at BWB, though and was injured and coming off it earlier so could be a late riser type.
Posted on 2/19/20 at 3:44 pm to SummerOfGeorge
May be. He is a good really good player no doubt. Just don't think he is a one and done type. Hopefully we have him two or three years, I think we will. (If he commits to us of course)

I'm sure he did - he was the guy Gottfried knew he had to get early on to set the tone.
I just remember we played that miserable OOC schedule his year at Alabama and he averaged like 15 a game vs Arkansas Pine Bluff, Grambling, Akron, Alabama State and they were almost all on insane dunks.
Then conference play started and he averaged like 6 a game because all he could do on offense was dunk

I just found a "Recruiting Consesus" ranking on basketball-reference. Wallace was #4 in 2000.
1. Zach Randolph (Michigan St)
2. Eddie Griffin (Seton Hall)
3. Darius Miles (NBA)
4. Gerald Wallace (Alabama)
5. Marcus Taylor (Michigan State)
6. DeShawn Stevenson (NBA)
7. Chris Duhon (Duke)
8. Mario Austin (Miss St)
9. Jared Jeffries (Indiana)
10. Taliek Brown (UConn)
He had the #2 best NBA career of anybody in that class by WinShare
1. Zach Randolph (#1) (81.1)
2. Gerald Wallace (#4) (59.7)
3. Caron Butler (#47) (50.9)
4. Luke Ridnour (#68) (36.0)
5. Chris Wilcox (#23) (26.9)
And the next year Mo Williams was ranked #16 and he ended up #4 in that class in NBA WinShare. So in back to back classes we had Top 5 players in NBA success (though of course they never played together).
