At 6-8 he could be great for the small lineup that people have been hyping up. We could have 5 3 point shooters on the court at once with 2 quasi-bigmen in Reese and Rojas

I will never ever trust anything from JuCo stats.

Id rather have Allen that Rojas. I hope we never put a lineup out where the tallest player is 6'8 consistently.

Fleming and Smith are both 6’9.

We have the late momentum with Watford just not sure if it'll be enough.

frick those guys. I offset their predictions by commenting on Watford's "9 Days" tweet earlier.

Coach Oats has done all he can. Losing Watford wouldn’t be his fault.

The dumb thing is that we will see headlines like "Nate Oats loses first recruiting battle" if Trendon picks Memphis.

Lazy narrative-loving sports writers in this state have always loved taking swipes at Alabama basketball.

Memphis’ class could rival Duke’s class from last year is they get Watford and RJ Hampton to go along with James Wiseman.

Memphis reporter tweeted this just now and another Memphis reporter retweeted it

This seems really low for Watford, but part of me thinks Memphis is willing to pay more than we will (I hope we drop the bag, get him paid and on campus) and Penny absolutely has no problem dropping the bag to get another 5 star in this class.

I’ve never felt good about getting Watford. Felt it was too late in the process...he’ll be a Memphis Tiger. It’s ok, though. We kept everyone in this signing class and picked up Hawkins. Retained Kira, Petty and Herb. Nate is not finished...he’ll nab a transfer or two.

Overall Nate has done a tremendous job keeping everything together and preventing a massive rebuild. We really need Juwan Gary to qualify.

I hope I end up being wrong on Watford but the little noise that was there has toned down.

Absolutely. Watford is the cherry on top and brings our ceiling into sweet 16 range, but even without him this is a team that Oats can make some noise with.

I don't believe that Avery did much work this past season. Recruiting or anything else. Ya'll remember all of those times that Avery didn't even make the trip to watch Trendon play? Avery didn't even come to Birmingham for the biggest basketball tournament in the state. fricking bum

What I don’t understand with Watford is that- and I believe everyone here has heard this rumbling- his dad/family is shopping him for a payday. Christian’s still in the league is he not? Hell the family lives in mountain brook they can’t be hurting that much
