I love his energy and that “never settle” attitude. He is exactly what we need right now. I hope he can keep the energy and confidence high going into Baton Rouge Wednesday.

That thing was great.
He's the literal guy to the core that I've wanted to see at Alabama since I was a kid. Everytime I see some insight or in-depth thing on him and the program I come away impressed.
It's just really awesome to be this excited about both the present but even more so the future.

Love the way he publicly discusses stuff like that

Interesting that he specifically says we're a better rebounding team with Galin out there, considering Galin is not an obviously effective rebounder.
I remember an article about one of the Lopez twins in the NBA, where the gist was he doesn't get that many rebounds but his teams always rebound better when he's on the court because he's good at blocking out, etc. Oats apparently has numbers that say we rebound better with Galin out there. I wonder how those numbers compare to when somebody like Javian is in.

The UNC game moved into Quadrant 2 after last night. Leaving the Penn game as our one really ugly loss as far as Quadrants go

ESPN.com list Alabama as the biggest over achievers in the SEC so far.
quote:
Overachieving: Alabama. Nate Oats and Alabama are on a four-game winning streak. They lost to Florida in double overtime earlier this month but showed heart in a tough game. He has relied on Kira Lewis Jr., a sophomore averaging 16.8 points per game and connecting on 82.4% of his free throw attempts. The league's preseason poll predicted a top-six finish for the Crimson Tide, but they're ranked second in defensive efficiency in the SEC and could be a threat to any team, especially at home. Their opponents have made just 30.4% of their attempts from beyond the arc. They have the same conference record (4-2) as Auburn and Florida.

3-6 vs Q1/2
9-1 vs Q3/4
It'd be great if Iowa St/Carolina could finish semi-strong. Pretty easy to explain away a 1 pt loss in the first game of the season with a new coach and system, much easier than explaining away a month of bad play.

Maybe we’ll get the Cole Anthony benefit of the doubt. At the end of the day the ball is in our court. If we lose to only LSU or Arkansas at home and take 2 of @Missouri/Ole Miss/Georgia, we’ll be 7 games over .500, have a top 40 NET, and be roughly 8-8 against Quad 1 and 2. That team gets in
And even if we fall slightly short of that we’ll have a shot at 2 or 3 wins in the SEC tourney. Other than Kentucky, because it’s a road game, no team in the SEC scares me on a neutral court.

If we can just get UNC to stay Q2 we won’t need an excuse with the committee

If yall need anymore evidence to take bracketology, especially Lunardi's, with a grain of salt, NC State lost to 9-11 Georgia tech and 10-10 UNC and did not move down a single spot. He probably presumed a victory last night and didn't feel like changing his bracket before it was posted this morning

They play in the ACC. ACC gets the SEC football benefit of the doubt.

#Alabama basketball head coach Nate Oats on the recruitment of Trendon Watford: “We got in late on that. I got the job when that was pretty much already done. When we tried to recruit Trendon, he wasn’t officially committed yet, but (LSU) had put a lot of groundwork in there.”
