Yeah, it’s basically just because he works at ESPN.

I talked about this on tRant but some put way too much faith in Joe's bracket. I understand why his is the popular one to look at during the year but on bracket matrix his bracket isn't even in the top 50 most accurate brackets they track.

It's because he isn't in the business of interpreting current trends and folding them into his projections. As SoG said, Lunardi is typically a week or two behind the curve whereas a lot of those better models incorporate future projections into their brackets.

I don’t get it. Teams with similar NET are averaging out as 7 seeds and we aren’t even in some people’s First 4 Out

His draft stock seems to be trending upward the last couple of weeks, one I saw last week had him going 18th to the Jazz.

About as good of news as we could have gotten.

Be nice if Hawkins got 6-7 minutes Saturday and played well.

The last few games Galin Smith and Fleming have been averaging 8 to 12 minutes a piece, it probably means that Smith will have to step up and play around 20 minutes, but is he gets in foul trouble we are probably gonna need Hawkins to play, and hopefully he plays well as you said.

Then again we may go with a small lineup, with Smith and Fleming both in foul trouble at Florida we basically went with 5 guards and had Herb playing the 5, and it didn't work out well, they made a huge run of course and ended up winning the game.

That’s why I just call him Javian.

NET is still fairly new and I think a lot of people who were already skeptical of those sort of rankings generators just can't wrap their heads around the idea that a team sitting at 11-7 just under 2/3 of the way through the regular season is one of the 40 best teams in the country.

There are only a handful of teams currently in the top 75 of NET rankings with less than 12 wins and almost all of them are in the B1G, which has just been a total bloodbath/clusterfrick in conference so far.

K State has lost 5 of their last 6 games and are 9th place in the big 12 standings (out of 10 teams.)

They did however beat the third place team in the big12 (WV) by almost 20 points at home last week so they are a pretty hard team to get a read on.

They score 40% of their points inside so losing Davis for this game isn't ideal.

It's a game we should win pretty easily, but they do have a solid defense, we definitely can't turn it over 25 times against them.

It would be really cool to win tomorrow then win @LSU. I highly doubt it happens and can’t expect the guys to keep winning like this in Oats first year... but it would be sweet and basically lock us in the tourney barring we won the rest that we should.

If we could win these three in a row, K State, @LSU, Arky I think that would lock up our tourney spot barring an epic collapse.

I know we have collapsed epically towards the end of the season the last two years but the last month of our SEC slate doesn’t look nearly as hard as it did the last two years.

I think beating LSU at their place is certainly possible, you look at their last 3 home games they have been squeaking by

LSU’s recent home games

Vs arky 79 - 77 W
Vs Miss St 60 - 59 W
Vs Fl 84 - 82 W

They lost at home to East Tennessee State by 11 earlier this year.

Very true. If we keep improving we could win there. Honestly we haven’t played that well in our last 3 games and still won them all by double digits.

I think the difference this year is we are getting to the line and hitting FTs where in years past we didn’t draw many fouls and missed the FTs when we did. Also the random threes help. We have never shot well or many at all.

Basically the same position we've been in each of the last 2 seasons. We looked to be in a really good/solid position, but then we came out and lost games we could not afford to.

Like others have said earlier, though, I think we are a different team this season. I want to believe damn it.

Our last 6 games this year are

TAMU
@MissSt
@OleMiss
SC
Vandy
@ Missouri

That seems a lot easier than what we had to close out the season the last two years. So hopefully the same type of late season collapse doesn’t happen.
