Our players were controlled vs Minn a few years back and all got suspended. There was definitely still time on the clock after looking at it again.

Yeah the ball hits the floor with like .2 seconds left. The Big XII is kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one. If they don't suspend anyone then it's a really, really bad look considering there were non-players involved and it started to spill over into the crowd. If they do suspend most of the players involved then it is basically a de facto forfeit for KU and K-State in their next games, which are very important OOC contests.

I think they are going to make DeSousa the sacrificial lamb and suspend him for the remainder of the season. He shouldn't be playing college basketball anyway and he's the one who started all of it and grabbed a fricking stool ready to use it as a weapon.

They aren’t gonna suspend Kansas players without suspending K State guys. Kansas is a big bread winner in the conference

Did they have to miss the next game?

No. They were just ejected for the rest of the game.

I THINK the only folks that may be at risk for suspension will be anyone that threw a punch. The guy that was trying to swing a chair will almost certainly get a significant one.

Game notes

— Things aren’t going well for Vanderbilt. Not only do the Commodores enter Wednesday’s matchup with a five-game losing streak, but they also saw their run of 1,080 consecutive games of making at least one 3-pointer come to an end over the weekend. Vanderbilt was 0-for-25 from beyond the arc during its 66-45 loss to Tennessee. Even after the dismal performance, the Commodores rank No. 2 in the SEC, shooting 34.7 percent from beyond the arc. Alabama leads the conference making 35.8 percent of its 3-point attempts.

— A lot of Vanderbilt’s shooting struggles stem from the loss of forward Aaron Nesmith, who suffered a season-ending foot injury earlier this month. Nesmith leads the SEC in scoring (23 points per game), 3-point percentage (52.2) and 3s made per game (4.3).

— Vanderbilt’s Memorial Gymnasium has not been a welcoming place for Alabama basketball throughout the years. Last season, the Crimson Tide notched a rare road victory against the Commodores. The win was Alabama’s second in Memorial since 1990. The Crimson Tide has gone 2-14 over that span.

— After battling through an elbow injury earlier this season, Alabama forward Herbert Jones is finally starting to find his groove on the court. The junior recorded double-doubles in his past two games and is the Crimson Tide’s leader in blue-collar points with 358.5 on the season. Jones is averaging 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and is shooting 52.4 percent from the floor over his past seven games.

— Alabama attempted a season-high 39 3-pointers against Missouri, hitting on 13 of them. Through 17 games, the Crimson Tide leads the SEC in 3s attempted (500) and 3s made (179). Alabama is on pace to shatter its single-season record in both categories. In 2015-6 the Crimson Tide set school records with 763 3-point attempts and 259 made 3s.

— Alabama forward Alex Reese has made seven combined 3s in his last two games after recording a combined six over his five previous games. The junior is averaging 1.8 made 3s per game and is shooting 36.5 percent from beyond the arc this season.

— After averaging 7.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in December, Alabama forward Javian Davis has had a month to forget in January. Since the start of SEC play, the redshirt freshman is averaging just 2.2 points and 3.0 rebounds over five games.

Does anybody have a link to a replay of Jean Felix's incredible full court pass at the end of regulation vs. Vanderbilt?

I'm pretty sure he hit Richard Hendrix who dropped it off for maybe Alonzo Gee?? I think it was in the 2005-2006 season.

I don't but I was actually thinking about that this morning - it was my sophomore or junior year. It was 2006

I think Shan Foster hit a 3 or something right before it to give Vandy the lead then we made that insane pass and shot to tie it.

Shan Foster Has Career Night in Loss to Bama - VUCommondoes.com

quote:

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Ronald Steele hit two free throws with 9.7 seconds left in overtime and scored 21 points to lead Alabama to a 77-74 victory over Vanderbilt on Wednesday night.

The Crimson Tide (13-8, 6-3 Southeastern Conference) survived a dramatic finish to regulation that featured eight points in the final 8 seconds.

Alex Gordon cut it to 75-74 on two free throws with 47 seconds left in overtime for Vanderbilt (12-8, 3-6), which has lost four in a row. At the other end, Jean Felix missed a 3 but Richard Hendrix dove for the rebound and called timeout with 12 seconds to play.

Steele grabbed the inbounds pass and drew the foul, draining both free throws. Shan Foster, who finished with 30 points and had six second-half 3-pointers, drew a foul with 2.3 seconds left and missed his first free throw.

Derrick Byars rebounded and passed to Dan Cage, who missed a 3 at the buzzer.

Steele has iced back-to-back games at the line, also making six straight in the final two minutes of a win over LSU on Saturday.

It could hardly match the frenetic ending to regulation.

Felix had missed his first eight 3-point attempts but drilled one with eight seconds left for a 66-65 lead. Then Foster hit an open 3 with 2.3 seconds to play.

Felix launched an inbounds pass the length of the court to Hendrix, who bounced it inside to Gee for a dunk that just beat the buzzer.

Davidson had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Tide. Alonzo Gee scored 17 off the bench while Hendrix had 12 rebounds to go with eight points. Felix finished 1-for-14 and missed 10 of 11 3s.

Foster made 6-of-13 3s after missing his only two attempts in the first half.

Byars finished with 13 points, while the Commodores set up 21 of their 28 baskets with assists. They were 9-of-15 on 3s in the second half.

Vandy’s bread-and-butter 3s didn’t fall in OT. The Commodores made their first and then missed their last three.

The Commodores had won the last four meetings. Steele fared well in his game against former high school teammate DeMarre Carroll, who finished with nine points and nine boards.

Carroll and Julian Terrell both fouled out in overtime.

Every time Bama plays Vandy it's the first thing I think of, and I search youtube every year and somehow there is nothing!

I had forgotten how streaky cold Jean Felix could get. But man, he might be the best perimeter defender Bama has ever had.

And frick Dan Cage!

He was just another in a long line of white dudes Vandy always had that would rip your heart out.

Seckar, Maddux, Langhi, Freije, and what feels like a million more.

Jean was not afraid to fire it up at any moment.

I think I've asked this before but does anyone know where to find video of the Elliot Washington shot vs ark in the SEC Tourney/BJCC in the early 90's?
