I think Johnson’s was to just let the talent take over but basketball is much more complex than that. The NBA is a little different. Certain players can just take over. We didn’t have those players minus Sexton.

There just wasn't a plan in place on the types of kids we wanted to sign to fit a system, because there wasn't really a system for either one. Grant's was to play defense and Johnson's was.......I don't really know.
I think Avery's strategy was to try to regularly sign a guard who could dominate the ball and score on iso looks like Sexton and Kira and then surround him with a bunch of role players. That may just be me trying to find something that isn't there though. I'm not sure Avery truly ever had a plan. For all I know he wanted the job specifically to ensure his son got minutes on a power conference team.

I personally Johnson wanted to run fast and shoot fast, but maybe didnt have the guts or belief to stick with it when he saw all the turnovers and bad shots. Got to admit, it didnt look good for a while this season.

I think that’s going to be the interesting thing. I don’t think Oats is going to recruit as well as Avery. But he’s going to be much better at developing players and in game X’s and O’s.

I was disappointed with how we started the season but I am very pleased with the inspired play as of late.
This team hasn't even come close to their ceiling yet and I think we could be hell to deal with come tourney time if everyone stays healthy.
Calipari meant what he said.

If Alabama maintains its 83.5 points per game for the rest of the season it will be the 4th highest scoring season of all time and will be the first time since 1986-1987 that a UA team has averaged 80+ PPG.

Pettway deserves a lot of credit for Avery's guard recruiting.

I think Oats will do just as good as Avery recruiting. Hodgson is one of the best JUCO recruiters in the game and we know what Pett can do.

Winning games consistently in an offense like we run will make recruiting much easier than it has been for this staff so far.

We have three guys in red sweats at end of the bench that look pretty good, but can not play this year. We only have one opening for next year. And anyone wanting to know if he can improve a player’s game just look at anyone’s film last year compared to this year. Alabama can compete and recruit with anyone. During Wimp’s last two years we had more players in the league than Kentucky and we played in front of full houses. It can be done and I suspect Oates can do it

Look at the One uniform with Crimson Tide on it. I want that Uniform to become a real thing BADLY.

A bit Oklahoma-ish but I really, really like it.

The system, style of play, winning and the expanded recruiting base Midwest,South and some East and West thrown in will ensure Oats will recruit better than Avery or Grant.
That's my take on it.

Man our women's team is awful to watch.

10? BS. I mean it is a possible, but that means we only won 7 more games in the SEC. I think we win 9 more and a win against K-State

Does anyone think we're a top 4 team in the league? I do.

KenPom is projecting us to go 12-6. Losses coming to LSU, Auburn, Miss St, and Mizzou all on the road.
