That disparity just shows that we are a much better team than our record. Hopefully the team shines through and lives up to their potential as the season progresses.

I gotta say y’all, young John Candy deserves some praise. He really has did a great job encouraging students to come to the games and being loud.

Yeah, he puts a lot of effort into it. Glad to see it pay off in a big way last night.

Absolutely he does

The post-wide open OOS Alabama student population has been worse for football but they have absolutely been better for basketball. The student section is 80-100% full for almost every game, regardless of the opponent or how good we are, and has been for the last 4-5 years.

When I was in school the student section was Mark's Madness + a few others for most non-big games and then packed for Kentucky/State/Tennessee/Florida.

I had never come across the Haslametrics site. Very informative.

Much better than reading Joe Lunardi honk the stubby bobo’s of the Duquesnes of the world.

Yeah, I’m a big fan of Haslam’s site.

I don’t really pay too much attention to anyone’s stuff other than him and KenPom.

Btw I hope Oats tells everybody that the next time you throw an unsuccessful lob, your arse gets double conditioning the following day.

We must have had 5 of them last night and I can honestly only remember 1 successful alley oop all season so far.

That is the one damn thing that frustrates me with Kira. He always drives and beats his man, but lobs it up to guys who struggle around the rim.

One of the things I do like about Oats is he has everyone playing like they’re not scared. Presumably he’ll sit you if you don’t take open shots or play assertively.

Hell, Jaylen Forbes was 0-3 from 3 in 5 minutes played. My reaction was uhh maybe settle down Jaylen. But it’s tough to get better if you’re playing scared, and we’ve certainly had plenty of that under Grant and Avery.

Not making excuses for Kira. I don’t think Oats is threatening to sit guys if they don’t throw enough lobs.

Coming into the season, most would guess that Reece playing the 5 would be only for emergency situations. But it is genuinely effective. Credit not only Oats, but AR3 for improving in all areas of the game

As some of us stated all off season, Reese is really good fit at 5 in Oat's system. It's a shame he has been injured and hasn't gotten to play more minutes because when he is in the game is really good.

In their per 40 minutes stats Reese is averaging 17 points 9 rebounds and Smith is averaging 9 points and 6 rebs (and 8 fouls).

Rewatching the game...that play Oats called at the end of the 1st half was BEAUTIFUL. I wish Petty could have finished it

Coming into it, I was championing him as the starting 5. After the first few games though, I did change my tune as Davis was killing it and Reese was, well... not.

I REALLY wish we could cut out some of the stupid mistakes. I can handle mistakes, but stupid mistakes drive me crazy.

College kids running a system where good decisions result in uncontested shots and bad decisions result in Not Top 10 plays. We made stupid mistakes under Avery and Grant while struggling to score 60 points. I'll definitely take this over that.
