"Not going to win many games giving up 72 points to a mid major. Still not sold on this team."

This is a brilliant schedule by them IMO.
Played a bunch of mid majors who are gonna be at the top of their conference and look good for NET purposes but are really no threat to beat them.

Yea - and they expected to play Wisconsin in New York, but they lost to Richmond.

It's basically the same thing we do in non-Thanksgiving tournament years. Very smart - and also good for your team. Mid-major contenders tend to be solid teams who play good basketball. If you don't show up you lose.

This is an Avery/Colton schedule.

Yep - and we've been doing that since before Avery, too.

Gottfried used to do a great job at that - schedule 3-4 solid P5 games, 3-4 mid-majors that are expected to win their league and then 3-4 local teams that aren't great. Once he got burned by the terrible schedule in Gerald Wallace's freshman year he vowed to never have it happen again, and we've kind of continued to schedule the same way ever since.

I’ve been one of Petty’s biggest critics. He was such a heralded recruit and was such a disappointment. My sincerest apologies. He hasn’t been coached.

I get what you’re saying, but Petty was arguably our best player down the stretch last year. He Is an up and down player for sure though, and that can be frustrating.

The light seems to have come on for this team. Playing really well. Not sure we are a tourney team, but we are capable of beating anyone in our schedule.

ESPN BPI has us at 48.1% against Richmond.

The Spiders are 10-1 with their only loss coming against AU by 14.

The Penn State game got my attention. If you ask their coaches they'd have to admit they really could have lost that one, and they had just beaten the number 4 team in the country. The zebras did not help much.

It had us at 34.8% in the game today. Not very accurate generally.

Will be a tough game but very winnable, Auburn is really the only good team they have played. Vandy took them to OT.

Yeah if you look at their schedule it isn’t that impressive. They struggled against the two SEC teams they played. I think we will be fine at home.

I believe that today was the best that we've played since we had Sexton. I'm very happy with the game today. I hope they can keep building on it

I think the SEC is pretty shitty this year

I mean we aren't gonna win it or anything, but I think the current iteration of our team can give everyone we play problems.

I think we should be competitive in most every SEC game.
Each game will come down to the little things, well maybe big things: free throw conversions, turnovers, etc.

if they can get to 50% layup shots, they'll be in every game

I think Bama’s improvement has been rather sudden and still too recent for ESPNs predictive algorithms to catch up. I would also like to point out the similar lag in Vegas lines that a gambling person could take advantage of until they catch up. That window will close soon so hurry.
