If he (Hawkins) can’t , I am not sure about his future as a player bc Reese offers nothing to me. We knew his defense was horrible but he isn’t scoring either

Y'all remember that there was some a-hole running around here saying that Reese would lead the team in 3s made?!?

I know I sound like a giant a-hole but goodness Hawkins has to be able to give equal production to Reese, right?

Bless his heart that dude looks like his feet are chained to the floor.

I’d still take Reese over Smith, personally. It kind of surprises me Hawkins hasn’t passed him on the depth chart. Smith does nothing well other than being a decent post defender which isn’t much of a need in today’s game.

On the bright side, Davis is demonstrating why I was frustrated with Avery sitting him last year. He’s light years better than Smith or Giddens. His footwork is the best I’ve ever seen from an Alabama big. His head fakes are beautiful, and his quickness of feet makes him an excellent hedger on screens on defense.

That was a good Petty game. Lot of hustle, pretty good defense, made a few shots, didn’t really try to do anything too crazy, etc

Actually had 16 and 5

Yeah, Petty was what we need him to be tonight.

Overall, it wasn't pretty -- biggest statlines were likely our 22 Turnovers and Furman missing 30 3pt shots -- but it's still a quality win against a good team.

Penn lost to Lafayette tonight. Penn might not be very good. At all.

Yeesh.

With Reese, it’s been three years of two different head coaches just kind of saying “yeah we can’t play that guy.”

Not every game obviously. He has his moments. But how many games has he come in, missed a few shots, blown a few defensive assignments, and then sat on the bench for pretty much the entire second half? Feels like a lot.

Anyway, hopefully Reese finally has a bit of a breakthrough at some point.

And that was a nice win. Shackleford was excellent. Our defense was much improved.

Not to defend Avery too much, but how much of this can be attributed to Coach Ponytail? Javian was really out of shape last year. He may not have been capable of playing enough to justify not redshirting him.

An early season loss to a mid-major who was supposed to be pretty decent but actually turns out to be absolute garbage is a time honored Alabama basketball tradition.

I’m here Cobra and I’m not hopping off the Reese train yet. Definitely measuring and calculating the jump though

Not being a smart arse but if he comes in, misses a few shots, and blows a few assignments, he NEEDS to sit. That’s kinda important in this game

I’ll take out of shape Javian over Smith. I’d have a hard time believing he’d be slower than Smith.
