Interested what they will bring to the team this year. 6 out of 9 in lineup are Frosh and Sophs. Good for future

Yep - and there are 2-3 more that are basically co-starters who have played a lot too.

My biggest worry in conference play is starting pitching. Preilipp has great stuff, but he's a small bodied true freshman who has never thrown many innings in a year in his life being from Wisconsin. I'm not sure Shamblin or Jean are weekend starters at many other SEC programs.

I worry about scoring runs too . These freshman can swing it but once teams get scouting reports , they will have to adjust and may struggle in conference play some

Agree, though they have some vets in there too. Praytor, Auerbach, Reeves, Williamson, Robinson, Gentry have all played a full year or more of SEC baseball. They were overmatched a lot, but they have a lot of experience. More than most sophomores.

Whatever the rotation will be, it will be better than last year.

13-17 in conference would get us a regional. I’m not sure what road in conference play gets us 13 wins but that should be the goal from the fans perspective. Of course the player/coach perspective is a lot different.

One really encouraging thing about our lineup is that we are hitting the ball hard and hitting a lot of XBH.........and doing it while maintaining a K rate of 15.7% and a BB rate of 14.6%.

A lot of solid contact without a whole lot of swing and miss.

Absolutely - we are also MUCH deeper with SEC quality arms coming out of the pen. Ras, Cobb, McNairy, Lee plus Rukes, Smith, Freeman and Green. That's a lot of quality arms, so much better than the recent past.

Yep - 13-17 was my goal this year. Anything more than that is gravy.

And with the struggles of Kentucky and Missouri so far, it feels much more attainable than it did in December.

Yep and hoping an SEC West team has an unexpected down year to level the playing field a bit.

I really do think we could have squeaked out 10-12 wins last year if the schedule had given us a little breathing room. It just absolutely beat us down by the last 1/3 of the season, and understandably so. That was one of if not the most difficult conference schedules I've ever seen.
