In the end once Austin ascends to the top that will always be the case until he is drafted.

I was critical of Milroe during the first quarter but the reality is after that shaky start he was awesome.

Ty Simpson was good as well but you can obviously see why Milroe is the guy and why multiple coaching stands have chosen him.

Great thing is Ty Simpson will only get better so next year he should be awesome as well.

personally think Milroe is starting for similar reasons

It's obvious he won the locker room, which is important from the QB position in terms of leadership.

He also just put up a 374+ passer rating on 7/9 passing with 3 TDs and 200 yds in basically 1/2 of a football game against an FBS team, while adding 79 yards rushing and 2 more scores on the ground. It is quite possible that he is just a good QB in this system.

Also absolutely true. Very similar to the Hurts/Tua debates, IMO.

I’m rewatching the game and I have to say he has significantly improved. There are still areas to improve but he made quicker decisions and took off when he had an opening.

Name one game Coker won with his arm? You sound crazy comparing two. Blake also threw a wayyy better deep ball than Coker and he beat out Coker for the job. Coker was a game manager who was tough as nails but not a very good quarterback. And you are wrong Blake had more of an pro career than Coker.

Bump.

Give me the guy who can read. Milroe just doesnt have the head to play. Guy has been here all this time and he cant do basic shite. fricker just wants to play hero ball on every snap. He cant take what the defense gives him because he has no idea what they are giving.

What are your thoughts now after the USF game?

He is not making quicker reads and he still takes off late. He also avoids contact and gives up several yds on every scramble because of it.

There are running lanes many times he could take but he keeps backing up. Just doesn’t come naturally for him

He's made a couple of nice throws this year running up to the LOS thinking about running and then finds someone open, but other than that he looks the same as last year to me.

Makes it too easy on the opposing defense and it kills our TOP which makes our D play many more snaps.

CKD said he wanted us to come out and have a good opening drive.

JM4 said NOPE! Three and out to start every game coach.

This has not changed. He always is looking for the big throw and just does not have the accuracy.

USF is not a great team, but they demonstrated last night that were not afraid/worried about Milroe. They stacked the box and made it obvious early on they were coming after him.

Milroe is an average QB at best. Hopefully as the season progresses, we will rely on our running game which I like what I see in our RBs.

Simpson should have started last year or at least used a two quarterback system (which I never liked). We didn't win the big game any way and were lucky to win a couple more. Simpson would probably be better if this had happened. It is a mistake to put all your eggs in Miloe's basket.

He’s not making quick reads and he never has. He did step up a few times which is improvement over last year. Jalen has to stop drifting back because it’s making it easier for him to get sacked. He wasn’t the only problem though. Our OC should have called more screens and our OLine was getting whipped!
