I watched Ty’s HS highlights and he reminds me of Bo. Similar size, arm strength, running ability /speed and ability to throw on the run because eyes are downfield. It remains to be seen if Ty can do it on the D1 level, but he has the tools. Getting away from the Barn was the best thing Bo could have done.

I see it but the offenses are gonna look real different. I don’t think Bo threw the ball 10 yards down the field at Oregon

Maybe, I was just talking HS highlights. Bo had a much better OL lol.

Almost all of Ty's HS highlights felt like it was either him escaping out the back door or throwing a designed or improvised sprint out pass .

He wasn’t afraid to roll left even though he’s a righty. I hope most of that has been coached out. That’s hard to consistently pull off in the SEC.

I compare Ty more to Matt Flynn when he started for LSU in 2007. Very similar players.

Not bad. Better comparison than Nix, imo.

Aaron Murray is one ive heard too but i think he has better wheels. We will have to see how effective he is as a runner as the full time starter. He has shown good feel for running the zone read, but i dont know how much they will want him doing that.

The other big unknown is how much will he turn the ball over.

I think it's actually a really good comparison. Both coaches sons, both very athletic, both mechanically sound.

Nix got screwed a bit at AU and once he got to a competent program at Oregon he really showed how well he could play. Sure, he did a lot of short stuff, but he made good decisions and was fairly accurate. At AU it was a lot of hero ball and scrambling due to a bad offensive line.

Ty has more talent now than Nix ever did though. My *only* concern with Ty is trying to do too much and not staying within the offense.

There aren’t many players from those AU or OU offenses that would start for Bama this year if any.

Murray would’ve won a national championship if he didn’t run into possibly the most talented Saban Alabama team in 2012. So sign me up for Ty Simpson performing like Aaron Murray.

Simpson is a much, much better athlete than Aaron Murray. I'm not sure they're really comparable.
