Was surprised they weren't looking at him in the tent. They were looking at him in the open on the bench.

Russell needs to be the guy moving forward. Mack has a lot more experience in college football and this system so I get him being the 2 this year, but Russell is a much more accurate passer and is also just as if not more mobile.

Russell is legit, but he's really thin, almost D. Smith thin. I worry about those guys running a lot especially when we can't move the ball if our QB goes down.

Both the QB signees coming in won state titles, and one of them won two. Both are thicker and can run.

I don’t think running the QB a lot is a good plan in general. It’s nice to have someone that can pick up a few yards or escape pressure but QB designed runs? Maybe 2-3 a game if that. Russell does need to add weight. I’d think 215 is attainable for him before next year and would be a good growth point.

I don’t expect either of the signees to be ready in 2026. Too big a leap from their HS competition.

Mack's drive got us the only points we scored.

scored 3 points in almost a half.

Even say he started from the jump. That puts him at ~200 yards passing on the day at 6.5YPA.

Then you take away the fumble and awkward slide. That puts us at about 13 points on the day assuming we convert a drive in the red zone (big IF).

Given the fact that the defense was giving up 12YPA and almost 90% from Mendoza and 6.5YPC on the ground is there any world in which we hold IU to 13 points?

We lost the game comprehensively on both sides of the ball. Everyone wants a scapegoat but we just got our asses kicked by a much better and tougher team.

He had the same deer in the headlights as 15 trying to run this pathetic offensive scheme.

Hope I never see a f'ing pass to #4 running lateral to the LOS for 2 yards.

Fire Grubb today before sunset.

This is the guy people think has a significant back injury. He literally plays scared and doesn't have the toughness to take pain.

This isn't Jake Coker man it's Ty Simpson.

He was probably trying to save himself because he saw how bad he was and knew Indiana had him in a box which he would never release himself from mentally.

That is the guy some still are making excuses for

Tim Keenan is decent but not great. The rest of our DL are the same. Our ILB are undersized and play like it. Our run defense was trending in the right direction the 2nd half of the year but it’s also because we played a bunch of shitty offenses

Mack looked solid considering he was thrown into the deep end 24 points down.

Mack has NFL starter physical tools. Looked like him and the recievers weren’t on the same page a couple times, and some blitzes confused him, but a couple of his throws were freaking darts delivered perfectly. Watching him play actually pissed me off knowing we have this talent sitting on the bench when Simpson has been average at best the second half of the season. Keelon Russell has IT too

Absolutely no way to calculate this. Different qb paying in different parts of the game with different game plans. different style. And not injured.

He got hurt late vs UF and vs TX he threw for 58 yds. 6 for 12 with an INT. Less than 5 yds per attempt.

Yeah. Everyone forgets that bit of context. Prime Julio Jones had one reception for 23 yards in that game. So, nearly half of McElroy's passing yards were from one Julio catch.

And here I thought our head coach would make decisions on behalf of the players health and the team's chance to win football games.

This kind of shows the importance of having a good running game and a great defense.

Apparently your reading comprehension skills suck Everyone knew he pulled himself. Someone said he should have pulled himself at half and what I’m telling you is competitors don’t do that. They play until they can’t play any more. That’s exactly what Ty did. He played until he couldn’t any longer. Say what you will about his skill as a QB but Ty was a competitor and he never quit due to pain until it became more than he could take.
