And yet nearly identical total yards, and Bama obviously having more yards per play.

You guys think I dont like Milroe, but that's never been the case... its the offense we run with Milroe as QB that I dont believe in.

Jam Miller averaged 10 yards a carry and had 5 carries.

Vandy had TWICE as many 1st downs, Rush yds, Time of possession, and plays ran. Like I said last week... first downs are an important part of the game.

BUT MUH DEFENSE !! If Bama is playing keep away with the football by sustaining drives and picking up first downs that is the best defense there is,

Bama is very much like a three point shooting basketball team with this offense.

Are you really going to blame the OFFENSE for this loss!?

Vandy was 12-18 on third down and 1-1 on fourth down.

This was like USF last year.

Except, we turned around and ran the ball 42 times vs 21 time.

Offense was fine. They’re explosive, so TOP is going to be lopsided a bit. It wouldn’t matter what offense we had today, we weren’t beating Vanderbilt. They beat us probably 5/10 times because our defense is a disaster.

Considering the Offense gave up two turnovers. Yea, the blame goes across the board. There is also something to be said about scoring so quickly and putting defense on the field for the majority of the game especially when the offense runs an option scheme.

The defense was on the field for the majority of the game because they couldn't get a stop on third down. Vandy was 12-18. The defense had EIGHTEEN chances to get off the field and didn't TWELVE times

A great offense makes a defense better.

A great defense makes an offense better.

It's not all the defense. They are on the field the entire game every week. They are barely getting a drink of water before heading back out to play D.

These are not cyborgs. The offense has to shrink the game to some degree, and they have to have more drives that let the defense get their feet under them.

The D has issues, but the boom or bust offense is definitely making these issues much worse.

Agreed 100%
Got to give the ball to the hot hand. Jam had 5 touches tonight for 45 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of those 5 touches was in the second half. I’ve never seen a Bama offense abandon the running game so quickly and I believe it affected the play of the defense. The missed tackles were still inexcusable though.

Dude, they looked like arse on the first drive of each half, maybe even worse than they did at any other point. What was their excuse then?

Dude we scored 35 and lost. That's inexcusable anyway you put it. Defense had several chances to stop then and just plain looked lost and low effort.

Dude

Vandy just Saban balled Bama

Ended every possession with a kick

Controlled the TOP

Ran the football

Took the air out, and won the 4th quarter.

That hasn’t been Saban ball since 2015. Vandy just beat our arse by running the ball and converting every 3rd and long. You could pick 11 players at random and have a decent shot of stopping an option team on 3rd and long, but we couldn’t do it with some of the best defensive talent in the country.

Well, the defense gave up 33 points so the defense played good enough to win without the Pick 6

I thought that Milroe played great. Pick six was a fluke and the strip sack from his blind side ain’t on him. He played winning football imo.

33 points to Vanderbilt is shameful. And the only reason it was 33 and not 40 is because they ran victory formation at the end. They could have easily added another if they wanted.

Vandy punted twice. They only punted once in the first half and might not have punted at all with more time on the clock.

Thats not on the offense.

I don’t even want to think about the shite grades our LB are going to get in the film review. We had tendencies they exploited and we never adjusted.

Pretty damn strong for a group that doesn’t get many touches because their defense sucks so bad. That’s a 9 drives, 5 TDs?
