He won’t be 100% but hopefully somewhere around 75-90%. Beat LSU. Play MAC until Auburn or he’s 100%.
. I agree...I want to get the heisman as much as anybody but the sec championship then national championship is more important

What "%" do we give Tua during the playoffs?
I'm not certain a 75-90% Tua is good enough to beat elite teams, especially with our defense in its condition.

The only positive I see in Tua's ankle injury is that I think it will galvanize the team and force everyone to up their game and try their best.
Didn't Collin Sexton miss a game or two during his season in Tuscaloosa? And IIRC, the rest of the team stepped up and played better.

Good. Sounds like he'll be ready for the Hogs.

. I’m with you man but let’s get there first an I mean yea fully healthy in the playoffs is what we want for sure but I think an able 75-90% of Tua gives the team a better chance than 100% of nothing from Tua.

this is only going to affect his mobility, and probably not very much. It's not like we have been running him at all this year. He will be 100% by the playoffs, would have been 100% by the playoffs even without the surgery. He should have pain throwing the ball at all even by lsu. We just have to gameplay to get the ball out quick, and tuas got to get rid of it if the play is blown rather than trying to scramble until he's 100%

He would be 100 by the playoffs if we get through LSU with him not 100. Hopefully he is mobile enough to move away in the LSU game.

Over Jalen?

At this point, the only thing working against Jalen is that a lot of voters won't want to give it to the same position at the same school for 3 years in a row.

I'm not saying no one else has a chance, but in the end, I think it's going to take an OU loss or two for Burrow or anyone else to get the Heisman.

If that were the case they might as well have skipped the surgery.

Nah. A high ankle sprain can linger for a very long time. Especially if you are trying to play on it after a month or so.

The surgery was the shortest route to recovery by far.

this is only going to affect his mobility,

but an injury to any part of the body affects a qb's entire game. Especially to a leg or ankle because of the plant and follow through. Tua is a mobile qb, in spite of the fact he isn't called on to run this year, so it also impacts his ability to avoid the rush. Then there is the mental aspect of an injury and playing not to reinjure. Finally, there is the pain, but I think he must have a pretty good tolerance for pain, but the pain factor is probably why he's have to go in the tent so often last year, to be shot up with whatever they use these days (legally and according to ncaa)

So an injury impacts the whole game.

Evidenced by the UGA game. Tua lost a lot of his throwing velocity that game not to mention mobility. But at least this leg probably wont effect the former as much

This would be good time to open up playbook that LSU hadn't practiced for.

Tua will be 100% way before the playoffs. But we still have to get through lsu, auburn on the road and the SECG. Not to mention Arkansas with Mac

The UGA game is where he got the high ankle sprain. He got a regular sprain on the other ankle earlier in that game, and yes that did affect his throwing(shocking). The first game he played on the repair was Oklahoma, where his passing was fine. His passing was fine against Clemson too, they had just been practicing against us for months and didn’t have to worry about the qb running in our rpo scheme. This year is totally different

I think the injury that needed surgery happened on the 1st drive

either way, trying to continue to play on an ankle that is sprained, regular or high ankle, while still dealing with a knee sprain, is much different than playing in an ankle that got the tightrope surgery and then 3 weeks of recovery. Go watch the Oklahoma game to get an idea what he will look like for lsu. I'm sure they are doing 24 hour rehab on him, everything available to modern medicine to accelerate healing. Last time they had to fly all over the place for awards ceremonies while he was doing rehab and they all had a trainer by his side all the time

He’s a doofus but good info, also he got the time off wrong we have 3 weeks until LSU. If Tua is low impact on week 3 for LSU prep it should be fine. So basically 19 days of low impact and a game on day 20 at 2:30.

He's off the scooter.

Spotted Tua Tagovailoa walking out of the Alabama football complex in a walking boot.

Means he's able to put weight on it 2 days ahead of schedule.

That was quick.

Gotta believe the fact he doesn't have to travel to NY and ATL like last year, they can 100% focus on rehab...has expedited this whole thing.

It's gotta be easier to take care of inflammation and keep diet in check.
