Stats wouldn't matter at that point. It'll be about who had the bigger games. It's been that way for the past several years.

The loser of the Bama/LSU game is not winning the Heisman.

If Tua comes back from this and has a big game against LSU that results in a win then follows it up with high level play in wins against AU & UGA, he will win the Heisman.

It really doesn’t come down to raw stats because the Tua comeback narrative and championship optics would be hard for Burrow to overcome. The Heisman is all about hype and right or wrong, the voters usually vote whichever way the wind is blowing.

Yeah. If Bama beats LSU, the momentum would be with Tua. He'd have the bigger stages left.

Yeah. I don't get why some are panicking. He was moving well 10 days after surgery last year. Like the doctor said he would.
It's as if the doctors...I don't know...know what they're talking about.
People acting like he's going to be crawling out there 19 days from now.

People seriously need to calm down.

I remember Jeff Allen being around him the entire time. They were doing everything to get the ankle healed sooner. Even attached electrodes to stimulate healing. If anything else, my money is on Jeff Allen.

Lots of room in the open house yes if we scheme correctly we are good. One bad hit and poop steaks.

Exactly. Jeff has access to everything in the training room, and Tua is on campus. Wouldn’t be surprised if there is some sort of 24 hour treatment/rehab program.

It seems tightrope has been something of a secret weapon for Alabama until last year when it got so highly publicized.

quote:

They must perform 15 single-leg hops as a test of their readiness to practice. Tagovailoa did that on Day 10. “It was quick,” Waldrop says. Some are even quicker. “It’s usually seven days to play,” says Williams, the Bama tackle who underwent the tightrope procedure last January after suffering an ankle sprain late in the national championship win over Georgia. “It’s cool."

This is kind of a miracle procedure.

IF Bama loses to LSU with Mac at qb, that should seal the Hypesman for Tua correct? All I've heard is how Tua benefits from so much talent on the team.

I’m sure he will be in a hyperbaric chamber when he sleeps

I’m optimistic, Tua had the same procedure last year and had less time to recover than he’ll have now before the LSU game and still played well (and outran their defense on one leg).

This. Jeff Allen is one of the best in the business, and has access to some of the best equipment in the business.

And Lyle Cain is a pretty damn good surgeon. Tua is in the best hands possible.

They invented the tightrope procedure, so I'd say so.

They made a good point on The Roundtable.
Tua was about to play another play and he walked with a slight limp. I don't care what anyone's "sauces" say, it's nowhere near as bad as last year where he had to be carried off the field and they were bringing the cart out.

Dunaway said Saban said that Tua told him "I think I twisted my ankle."

I don't think they'd risk a surgery if they didn't think they'd have him back by LSU. Especially when they have a history of players back practicing a week later.

Getting injured has apparently made Tua about 10 times better than he was before.

All I've heard all season on the Rant is how Tua isn't really that good and he's just a product of the receivers.

He doesn't even have that great of game, throwing an interception on a terrible decision, but then gets injured.

Suddenly he's the best QB ever and Alabama is doomed without him according to the Rant.

He did make another play. The next play, after he went down on 1st & 10 for a 5yd loss, he threw the ball to B Robinson for a 5yd gain. It was 3 & 10 and he was still out there but UT had some weird alignment with only a 4 man front and dropped back 7 in line 10+ yds back and we looked confused and called a timeout.

I keep seeing people and the media alluding to him getting sacked and being helped off the field and/or leaving the field right after the sack but that was not the case. He was still out there after the hit. No one noticed anything until Jones came back in after the timeout.

So Tua was still playing so I agree this injury at time of was not as severe as last year and I think it is Saban being more proactive.
