Injuries like that are unpredictable. There is no way to make a statement like that at all. He could be fine and he could be done. Only time will tell.

It was arkansas last year when he got banged up. Then missouri when the first serious injury happened

Good thing is, is that he was about 75 percent against them last year and put in a damn good performance.

It's probably not that bad and they're gonna give him two weeks off since we have a bye after the Arkansas game.

But seriously though. This dude has the worst injury luck. Routine tackle and this ankle shite again. I have to admit I’d be a little weary if I was a nfl GM. As good as he is availability is most important.

Mac is probably the safer pick. Just need him to come out there and be a game manager.

With this defense, whichever QB can score more points is the safer pick

Bad thing is their offense is way better while our defense probably isn’t. We’ll see but it’s going to be a really tough game for sure.

I think our defense as a whole is better than last year's, especially in the secondary, which is important against a great passing offense.

Definitely will be a tough game.

Our D won the game. The sprain must be fairly mild. Last year it was very serious. This one he was walking with a light limp

Saban said “Tua will probably be out for a week” but that he didn’t know the extent of the injury. It sounded more like an “at least” a week rather than an “only” a week.

Our defense is better than last season.

Gotta take into account what played out last year though. He may be capable but is it worth it?

Our defense was way better during the regular season but fell apart when we played great teams. So far we haven’t even played one and our defense looks bad. So I hate to imagine what we will look like

What’s the other option, though? We can’t “game manage” our way through games against someone like LSU with our below average defense. We have to be able to keep up with their scoring.

Tua is definitely back at the stadium. Posted a picture of his cigar on his Instagram story and was sitting in the training room part of the locker room.

I’m talking just next week. Tua didn’t miss a game last year when he def could’ve.

I think you got to sit him, unless the game is close. Then, let’s see how he feels.

Exactly. I had a bad sprain to my ankle nearing 2 years ago. I'd say it was a solid month before I could jog and it was painful just light jogging, not even trying to cut or change directions. Mine was a grade 3. I felt the ligament pop when I rolled it.

edit: I was wrong, it was 2 months before I could jog. I rolled it mid december and wore a boot for 6 weeks. We went on vacation in mid february and I jogged one time for 5 minutes on that trip. Doesn't really matter bc Tua's sprain is prob totally different than mine.

Here's a little copy and paste breaking down the different grades of sprain:

Grade 1

Minimal stretching, no tearing

Mild pain, swelling, and tenderness. Usually no bruising. No joint instability. No difficulty bearing weight.

1–3 weeks

Grade 2

Partial tear

Moderate pain, swelling, and tenderness. Possible bruising. Mild to moderate joint instability. Some loss of range of motion and function. Pain with weight bearing and walking.

3–6 weeks

Grade 3

Full tear or rupture

Severe pain, swelling, tenderness, and bruising. Considerable instability and loss of function and range of motion. Unable to bear weight or walk.

Several months
