I love Tua, but I have to wonder if he is always going to be perpetually injured.

It's ok.

15 games x 80ish plays = 1,200 consecutive Brian Robinson Power Iso runs out of Wildcat.

National Championship.

They'll never see it coming.

I agree.. he seems to stay banged up, he only played like half a season last year too.. we pulled him after halftime for most of the games.

Love Tua, but he seems to be made of glass. Very concerning heading into this season.

Probably doesn't matter much in the big picture but it's definitely an ominous start and doesn't help the perpetually injured rep much.

It’s ok. This year we’ll just plug in Lia and keep slinging it.

Tua Tagovailoa misses Manning Passing Academy with minor injury (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa won't be attending the Manning Passing Academy.

Originally expected to participate in the annual event as a counselor, the Crimson Tide junior ended up not going due to a minor hamstring injury.

BamaOnLine has learned it wasn't a pulled hamstring. Tagovailoa was simply dealing with tightness in his hamstring and sat out as a precaution...

I would say wrap him in bubble wrap.. but that would probably somehow cause turf toe or a sports hernia...lol We just have to protect him this year

The strange thing to me is that he is not a slightly built guy. He's thick, has a low center of gravity, and seems fairly muscular for a QB--especially in his lower body. Not sure if he just has an extremely low pain tolerance, or is not very flexible so things get tweaked alot. Hopefully they can figure it out, if he needs to be in yoga or something to get his muscles and ligaments loosened up and stretched out, hopeful they can do that. Be a shame to have a QB with his talent never play a whole season. NFL teams will certainly be watching as well, as nobody wants to spend a top 10 pick on a guy who can't stay out of the training room.

We really need to stay away from read options. We also need for Tua to learn to slide and avoid some of those hits.

Lia is one of the most important players on the roster for 2019. No way is Bama going to stay at the top with Mack as the Man (if #13 were to miss some games).

I mean he has like 8 skill position players that will be drafted and he was a 4-star recruit

I bet the offense would still be pretty good

Yeah I think Tuas injury history is going to cost him being #1 overall in the NFL draft

No offense to you or others, but it's ridiculous to think Lia is the 2nd best option at this moment at QB, especially since this opinion is SOLELY based on his last name.

Taulia was not nearly as high of a recruit as his brother and was consindered MUCH more of a "project" than his brother. As a matter of fact, Jones and Lia were both 4 star prospects. I also know for a fact that with Jones, we can call 100% of our playbook. I'd be shocked if Lia's playbook knowledge even approaches 50%.

The reality is that as of this statement, Tua is QB1, Mack Jones is our number 2 and has shown himself to be a capable option if needed, and then there's a CHASM between Jones and whoever is 3rd.

Why any Bama fan would want to bring in a true freshman if #1 goes down is beyond me, and it's particularly crazy to want that JUST BECAUSE OF THE NAME ON THE JERSEY. Jones gives us the best chance to win after Tua, and it's not even remotely close.

If Greg McElroy can win a natty, so can Mac Jones with the talent on offense this year.

I personally think that BigMac Jones is a pretty darn good option as the number 2. Kid looks like he can play, to my eye anyway. I know that his performances against the 2s and 3s during A-day should be viewed with a grain of salt, but he's operated the offense well multiple times now and seems to have the confidence of his teammates.

Honestly, I just want to see him to throw a TD in non-garbage time against an SEC opponent, and then sprint towards the endzone to celebrate - arms out, faux-flying like an excited baby condor. Jones seems to love life and I like seeing him enjoy it. Funny kid.
