I'm just over here shaking my head at an OC making over $2 million a year. No wonder Tide Pride donation requirements keep going up.

Speaking of nuts, Bryce Young would drag his all over Michael Penix's face.

Anyone holding a differing opinion is incredibly stupid.

Well, Bryce is gone, so I wouldn't mind seeing him in Crimson with Grubb calling plays.

this popped into my mind as well. it would be awkward telling a 2 million dollar guy not to run the stuff that got him there

Too many folks get this twisted. Bama's not going to change it's offensive or defensive system, terminology, signals, etc everytime we hire a new OC or DC. It's much easier/better for the new coordinator to modify/improve our schemes without changing all the existing terminology, etc. It doesn't mean the new coordinator is thereby limited in crafting play designs, gameplans and play calling.

Asking one coach to adapt is much easier than asking 40-50 players/coaches to.

According to Chris Low Grubbs arrived in Tuscaloosa on Sunday, and spent today here talking with our coaches.

Ryan Grubb is a hot commodity. He was also on
@AggieFootball's list earlier this month. Grubb arrived in Tuscaloosa on Sunday and spent Monday talking with
@AlabamaFTBL coaches and officials on campus. Nick Saban has and will talk to several candidates about the OC job.

MP would be an instant starter at Bama next season.

It's not even close imo.

I remember watching that kid almost carry Indiana over a win VS OSU with around 500 & 5. He's legit.

He would have the most experience but I think Ty could be just as good in the right system.

Penix can't transfer again without sitting out unless he's already got his bachelor's degree so he can grad transfer. He'll prolly stay at UW with DeBoer anyway.

Penix got his bachelor's degree from Indiana before he transferred to Washington. So I have no idea how that works for a second transfer.

This will be his 6th year of college ball, I hope he has his undergraduate degree by now. If not, he probably never will.

Gotcha!

Washington huskies offense did look good though.

I love the route patterns, misdirection plays, & the physical/aggressive style of play.

After graduating there are no restrictions on transfers.

Yeah and both our other QBs with experience will transfer out. Taking his transfer would be an extremely risky move. I hope we don’t.

I'd be shocked if Pennix transfered. Grubb wasn't a hired gun at Washington, he was DeBoers guy and he runs DeBoers scheme. And Pennix played for DeBoer (OC) at Indiana which is why he ended up at Washington.

Yeah, it's one thing to leave for Bama after receiving not one but two raises in the last couple of months, but taking their elite QB would just be twisting the knife in his back. I don't see him doing that to DeBoer either, especially since DeBoer is basically his mentor (or so it seems).

Yeah I’m not sure Saban or Grubb would care about that. Calling Penix elite is a real stretch. He plays in a conference with terrible defenses. We don’t need a QB transfer. The only guy we should be willing to take is Drake Maye if he reinters the portal. If the guys not already a 1st rounder NFL talent it’s not worth shaking up what we already have.

Maybe if he came we could get RGIII to call a game and hit us with another “Big Penix Energy”
