Also there is seriously no advantage to being the number one seed. We got the harder matchup. They need to do something to make it worthwhile to be the highest seed

ND isnt a top 4 team and if they get blown out even worse. They should have to be a conference champion to ever get back in. This is a year in and year out thing. Get into a big bowl game and get blown out.

Bama played the 1st semifinal game in 16 against Washington, while Clemson and Ohio St played the night game.
Interesting note, the winner of the night semifinal has gone on to win every national championship game during the playoffs.

We got the same amount of time as Clemson did to prepare for their easier matchup. A benefit would be if we had more time to prepare or got to play ND instead.

You may be right. But OU is elite on one side. Terrible on the other but one elite unit is still dangerous. ND is just good at most areas and doesn’t have the personnel on either side to be elite
