I don't think that is the case, unfortunately.

Most of them appear to be slappers.

Alabama softball hires new pitching coach to replace Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro

Lance McMahon will be the new pitching coach for Alabama softball, a source with knowledge of the hiring process told The Tuscaloosa News on Monday.

McMahon has bee pitching coach at Illinois for the last seven years.

Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro, who was Alabama's pitching coach for the last 12 seasons, left to become head coach at Memphis.

McMahon will take over a pitching staff led by All-American Montana

Is it me or have we been getting a lot of coaches/trainers from the Big Ten schools? Especially Illinois and Indiana. I'm talking all sports

Volleyball coach, assistant gymnastics coach and now softball pitching coach off the top of my head. Not your imagination.

He’s got a good bit of experience - hope the new blood provides a spark for team 27.

Doesn’t matter if they’re slappers or not. Go all the way back in the history of Murphy and the barking seal that remotely qualifies them to coach hitters. One thing! I’m waiting….

I get what you are saying but when we have good hitters do they get any credit for this or just when we don’t hit 1-9 in the lineup ? As a former baseball coach and player, it is not hard to study all parts of the game , pick the brain of colleagues, learn new ideas etc to become a better coach . I wished he would hire a full time hitting coach too but to say he doesn’t know the game is a little far fetched to me for a coach with his accomplishments
