I feel like we get an unusually high percentage of lefty players.

This Hornets summer league game is frustrating. Miller is doing all the good teammate things but no one is returning the favor for him. He has been open multiple times without anyone looking his way

Alabama Basketball Newcomer Breakdown: Grant Nelson (SI)

The North Dakota State transfer will be an instant-impact player for an Alabama frontcourt that desperately needed him.

They need to fire the entire Hornets summer league coaching staff and the guards on the team.

Those guards are trash and selfish!

Yeah, I realize that they don't have all the time in the world to set up stuff, but that's been two straight games without a semblance of an offensive system. Bailey, McGowens and Smith also have to be the worst guard trio that Miller could have possibly asked for in Summer League. Miller was the only guy looking to set anyone up.

Having said that, every time he touched the ball GSW threw a double team at him. That is an absolute dick move in Summer League.

They know how talented he is...I would do the same thing because his surroundings are terrible.

Disagree. Those are young coaches trying to work their way up and improve their stock. They are trying to win. It’s up to Charlotte’s coaches to draw up plays and sets to make them pay for double teaming Miller. If you don’t like the double team, do something about it.

The young Charlotte coaches are working their way down - and out. I saw better coaching yesterday at the Nike Peach Jam.

Torvik still doesn't have Stevenson included on our roster.

That combined with his numbers on Nelson throw us off a little bit, I think. Especially offensively.

With Stevenson included and Nelson properly projected I'd probably have us at #15 overall, #15 offense, #25 defense or something to that effect.

Sounds about right. I’d put us somewhere 10-15 preseason.

If Stevenson had played for any other AAU team, he would have been in the top 10 in every recruiting site's class of 2024.

Disagree. Summer League first and foremost is for introducing young guys slowly (especially rookies) to the NBA style of play in a setting where they are more featured than they will be in the regular season. None of these kids will be facing a double team from the tip in the regular season.

Also, absolutely no one is going to hire a coach based on their team's performance in Summer League, partly because it is such a shite show. There's a reason the lower tier assistants usually are the ones assigned the job. Is it fine practice for coaches? Absolutely, but it is not something designed for coaches to showcase their coaching ability and being judged based on their wins/losses. Running sets and having some sort of a defensive game plan should be encouraged, but blitzing a double team from the jump is just ridiculous and rarely ever done in Summer League.

Yeah I mean Summer League is basically just the NBA's version of EYBL. The results really don't matter and coaching the games like they do matter isn't going to catch the eye of executives from other teams. If anything it's just going to make you look like a try hard hack.

Offense is likely better than #15. That's a lot of firepower we're capable of producing if everyone is healthy.
