I think this is somewhat of a short sided way to think of things. First, the early aughts proved letting guys go straight to the pros is not beneficial. The NBA suffered and college basketball did too. Second, guys like Brandon Miller proved you can dramatically increase your value and some of these duds that have passed through Memphis and U.K. were forced to realize they weren’t as ready as they were told.
One and done grows the value of the players, the colleges, and the NBA, even if it does it indirectly.

When they allowed straight to the NBA, there was no proper minor league system, like they have now with the g league. The d league was just starting off, and there was no team affiliations. Now they do. So allowing g league ignite is a good step, i think it's unnecessary. The league wants it this way, to make up for their scouting mistakes. And that's led to college basketball having more of a free agent/mercenary culture.

I guess simply announcing the hire and not signing a contract until the show cause is up was not an option? I mean the stuff about Pannone has been out there for a while now and the school didn't formally announce the hire until a couple of days ago.

Murphy should be officially hired soon is what I meant, idk when the announcement will be, Claunch and Pannone had already been working here a while before the "official" announcements were made.

I thought Pannone was already recruiting because one of the recruits spoke highly of both our new coaches if I'm not mistaken.

Probably wouldn't be terribly difficult to note when this occurs en masse (like it is lately on the football side), then correlate who is online with who has access to this board.

Personally it doesn't bother me when someone downvotes mine because I've probably said something stupid anyway, but it does make it difficult to scan through and pick out legitimately good conversational questions and general information against that (unnecessary) background noise.
