An insider mentioned Jones to the Barn several days ago, and also said that Ware was a higher priority.

If we get Cryer to go with Sears and JQ…oh boy
Posted on 4/3/23 at 4:51 pm to mistaken4193
Y'all know Cryer makes JQ look like Gary Payton or Chris Paul right? He's not even a full sized traffic cone. He's like a Lego traffic cone. The ball handler stepping on him and rolling their ankle is the only way he's stopping anyone.

If we get Sears and Bradley back it’s going to be difficult getting another guard to sign up. These guys want minutes.

Cry r is a player, no doubt. However, he’s only 6’1. We may have enough short guards already.
Speaking of rule Changes, ha. I’d like to see the officials monitor goaltending that wasnot called during the media timeouts. It would certainly speed up the game time significantly. It’s human error that could be fixed. Just add the bucket during the timeout.
And while we’re at it, anything else that can be reviewed and corrected then, should be.

As inconsistent as they were all year it should be hard for a good guard to take away those minutes. Especially Bradley's

An insider that works for a site or a poster? You talking about JD Davisons AAU coach?

Gotta be honest I didn’t really pay attention to Baylors defense but He is a great offensive player. I don’t think they played when Baylor played us.

Hes like Shackelford in that he doesnt give you anything aside from scoring. He averages 2 rebounds and 2 assists a game.
Sounds like he is probably gonna go to Kansas State, their HC is who recruited him to Baylor.

And he’s unlike Shackelford in which he shoots 50% from 2 and above 40% from 3 on high volume.

He is a great shooter no doubt about that.

They were atrocious. Cryer is definitely a great scorer, but he's awful defensively.

If the rumors are true that Oats is hiring an NBA guy for his Xs and Os and that dude from Michigan to be his recruiter…..what’s taking so long to announce the recruiter guy?
Starting to think those rumors were bullshite

Not about transfers but watch for Saddi Washington as new assistant.
He'd be a good replacement for Hodgsen with recruiting.

He would be a homerun hire. He worked under Oats at Romulus for a while. Washington was a top candidate for the Buffalo job but they hired someone else a couple of days ago.

Tim Watts:
This could always change but the latest...
-Right now, the expectation is that Bediako will come back, and it won't be a tough decision. He wanted to get his name out there and have the NBA do their due diligence on him, but really the hope is for next year to be his year. It's not a guarantee, but it's possible Mark Sears does the same. I'm not sure how likely but that has been floated out as a possiblity for the same reason. Neither would be bad decisions imo.
-The verdict it still out with Jahvon Quinerly. I haven't got a feel one way or the other. I have been told he's been back and forth lately, but I think the NBA feedback he gets could be the deciding factor. Also, he is researching what other options he might have. For example, G league or maybe overseas. I said this early but I do think his ultimate decision could affect Jaden Bradley. I do know Bradley would like a bigger role next year. So this is a situation to watch. But again, I don't think the decision has been made one way or the other.
-I've seen the rumors about Rylan Griffen but after doing some digging, I've confirmed the Tide staff does expect him back next year. And they believe he will have a significant role.
-The portal interest has been strong as it pertains to Alabama. The Tide staff is having to sort through a lot of information. As we told you when he committed, Jaykwon Walton was a top target for the UA staff and based on their analytics (which they are big on) he was seen as the best fit for their system. There are several guards showing interest and one name I continue to hear a lot is Denver Jones. So, he's one to watch. There are other names, obviously, but some situations are still being researched. Part of the issue with wading through the portal is the NIL. Some of the players are asking for pretty hefty ones and in fact they hit the portal to make the most of their opportunity. Can't blame them but that has to be figured in as well. So some of these players remain cloudy and will take some time to sort out.
-As things stand now UA has two open spots and a 3rd if anyone else leaves. The main goal for next year is to get experience. I think in the NCAA tournament it was realized as talented as Bama was they were younger/ inexperienced compared to some of the other teams. There are high expectations around the team for next year for those closest to the program.
-As for the coaching hires, Oats is being intentionally quiet about potential hires. But I am told he has a short list of candidates he is comfortable with, and he feels he can choose from.
We will keep you posted if we hear more.

Don’t think this game is close. SDSU isn’t a particularly skilled team. UConn belongs here…SDSU won some really close games with some really favorable officials
