If you think Ware doesn't have the skill set to play the 4, fine. But, the whole "two 7 footers shouldn't be on the floor at the same time" thing is just bizarre. So you wouldn't play Bediako and a 19-year old Kevin Garnett (I'm talking literally KG in a fictional world... not comparing Ware to him in the least) on the floor at the same time? Is the height cut-off exactly 6'10"? How can this even be an opinion that exists in the world? I'm all for friendly disagreements and differences in opinions, but this is one of the weirdest ones I've seen on here... or on any basketball forum.

Nah man everyone knows if Clowney was 2 inches taller he would have been immediately taken out of the lineup. No way he could play with Bediako anymore.

It takes more than being able to shoot a three for a 7 footer to play forward, especially with how we play. He has to be able to dribble well enough to drive to the basket, which Ware cant do consistently , has to be a good passer, which Ware isnt.
Its not rocket science that the taller someone is usually the more uncoordinated they are. 7 footers who are coordinated enough to play something other than center and can pass, dribble, and shoot are rare and they are usually lottery picks.
Ware isnt good enough to be a lottery pick and he isnt nearly as skilled as Clowney. He isnt skilled enough to play forward.
He is a good center, would be a terrible forward.

Also I would like to add that we haven't contacted Ware. Which makes it more bizarre that some people seem to be obsessed with him replacing Clowney.

Why are there no 7 feet tall nfl qbs? There have been 6’9 qbs, only 3 inches difference in 6’9 and 7 feet, 3 inches is nothing right?
Couldnt possibly be that 6’9 guys are usually a lot more agile and coordinated than people 7 feet or over and guess what? 6’3 people are usually more agile and coordinated than 6’9 people!
Im not saying there arent unicorns like Wembyana who is 7’2 and very skilled (can pass, dribble, and shoot) but he is gonna be the number 1 pick in the draft for a reason. If Clowney was 7 feet and could do what he can do now just as well he would be a top 5 pick, being able to do what he does at 6’10 likely makes him a top 20 pick in this years draft.

Made Hunter Sallis's top 12 in HS. We definitely have a thing for underperforming top HS guys. Ware and Traore. Nimari and JQ fit that bill too. Maybe someone to keep an eye on.
According to a Nebraska board, Nebraska, Bama, and Arizona are his top 3. He's from Nebraska, was probably recruited by Tommy Lloyd, and then us. Not sure what the general opinion is in him. But I know Gonzaga fans were not only surprised, but disappointed.

There are plenty of 7-foot PFs though (and even SFs at the NBA level). That's why people think it's a strange point to argue. If you don't think he has the foot speed, hammer that home, but acting like 7-foot PFs don't exist is a strange point to make.
As for Wemby, he's a unicorn because he's 7'4" and could play the SF if a team wanted him to play there. Plenty of 7-foot PFs (and even SFs at the NBA level) out there. Classifying someone 7'4" as simply a 7-footer is like saying 6'8" is the same as being 7-foot tall.

Anyone think SDSU wins tonight or does everyone have Uconn?
Posted on 4/3/23 at 10:28 am to CrimsonFever

UConn has been lights out this tournament, much like they were early in the season.
But, mid season they were very pedestrian.
As long as early season or late season Uconn shows up tonight, they'll win.
Otherwise, it's a toss up

They are crushing good teams so far in the tournament. I am not sure how they finished 4th in the Big East and lost to Marquette in the Big East tournament on March 10.
I don't see a way they don't win tonight by 15+.

Not about transfers but watch for Saddi Washington as new assistant.

I really like the way Walton is physical to the basket. We really missed that "dog" mentality this year in most of our guards outside of Miller. It is key to making the three or lay up offense work.

Denver Jones seems to be trending Auburn. That would suck, but there's a lot more opportunity there as a guard right now.

Seriously. Need Cryer bad.
