Guy on BOL said to expect at least 1 more portal. Honestly hoping Bradley over Griffen or Pringle
I know I seem to be alone here, but I really don't see what everyone else sees in Griffen. I could see him turning into a good role player, but I don't see the star everyone else sees. I definitely want Bradley back over Griffen.

Was it mutual or did Oats tell him to.
I like Nimari especially his defense but he does need to work on his offensive game. I’m hopeful he lands somewhere he likes
I think after what we witnessed down the stretch with our shooting performances, I'm not going to lose too much sleep over him potentially leaving. I hope whomever we bring in is a capable and proven perimeter shooter.

I wonder if Nimari will follow Hodgson to Arky State?

-As Potter reported Nimari Burnett is in the portal. Not a surprise at all the staff. We first heard wind of this yesterday so Potter has just been waiting on the official announcement. Nothing major caused this. It was a mutual parting.
-It's possible there could be more transfers but nothing is certain in that regard. What is certain is Oats is meeting with players and they are discussing the future as it pertains to Alabama. With hoops a lot of decisions are relative to others. One player's decision often affects another's. So, this situation is fluid (which isn't surprising).
-Jahvon Quinerly is a guy whose decision could very well affect others. He's contemplating returning. But no decision has been made. The UA staff would like him back. But he's got to figure out what options he has professionally in order to make his decision.
-Oats and staff have plenty of good portal options. As expected, UA is a hot spot for transfers, and they have received more interest from top guys than they will have spots for them. Filling the roster won't be a problem. But Bama is looking for experienced guys to help them next year. Again, there are plenty of options out there for them to choose.
-I do expected UA to be successful in getting the top guy/ guys they want in the portal. It probably won't be the popular names some of you like but they have a system in place and they follow that blueprint when they evaluate players.

Nice, thanks for posting.

What exactly does this mean though? Who does the "popular names some of you like" reference? I'm guessing Denver Jones is one of them? I'm not on BOL so I don't know what the mood is over there.

Agree. We have to get some consistency from 3

Griffen is a guy that if he adds to his game, he can be a really good player for us. If he comes in next year and all of a sudden has better handles, to be considered a combo Guard, and the game slows down a bit for him then I can see him as a 1st round pick. If he's the same as his first season and still running around like his hair is on fire, he's probably not sticking around for all four years.
The key though is that there is an actual pathway compared to some guys that are all raw talent or measurables and you only talk about "potential" for two years and they never string it together.

I don’t expect Clowney back.

I appreciate that, but i'd rather stay off of there and not be tempted to open another subscription. I'll just keep appreciating the nuggets and whatnot that get posted here.

Is Denver Jones a popular name guy? I had never heard of him before we contacted him. I assume he is talking about the bigger named guys in the portal like Caleb Love, Ware ect. when he said popular names.

Yeah, idk. Wasn't sure if he meant popular in the BOL forums or what.

Same. I think what he meant was big named guys but I could be wrong.

I get the pathway for Griffen is there, but it's an extremely narrow one in my opinion. He had a below average percentage on spot-ups and it dropped through the floor on any movement shots. Not to mention his misses were often wildly off. His handle is loose as hell for a guard. He never seems to have a plan with the ball in his hands. His drives led to his greatest strength thus far (his interior passing) when it didn't result in him losing the ball. While he has excellent recovery ability, he's too often a traffic cone on perimeter defense. Above all things for me, his lack of coordination and stiffness at times (way too often) is what concerns me.
Griffen has the athletic ability and has shown some flashes here and there, but there is so much change that needs to happen for him to reach his ceiling. I wasn't on the Miles hype train his freshman year, but I understood it a bit more than with Griffen (considering we didn't see a whole lot of Miles early but he looked stellar when we did).
Having said that, maybe it is strictly his deer in the headlights nature that is holding him back. And maybe with time that changes and positively impacts his game as a whole. But I still believe Bradley is by far the better bet for improvement.
