Other than it being filmed with a potato this is a good highlight video of Kris Parker and with him being 6'8 and being able to handle the ball that good I can see why he was ranked high. He looks like a top 30 guy to me but what do I know.

Kris Parker highlights

I like the group, they all fit exactly what we want, but there aren't any Top 50 guys and only 1 Top 100 guy in it. It's only in the Top 15 as a team because it has 4 guys in it.

Yeah, it's nowhere near as nice as this past class, but I do think Walters ends up being a stud. I remember not being overly excited about him because the only videos of him were a couple years old and he was incredibly uncoordinated, slow, and didn't seem to have an overly impressive skill set to counter it.

He grew into his frame though and looks like a completely different player. Even though he has risen in the rankings a lot, with him dominating his competition over the past several months, I'm honestly kind of surprised he hasn't been pushed all the way into the top 50.

Was gonna be hard to get any 5 star guards this year with all the guards we have returning, and if we had then you risk running guys like Griffen and Burnett off and I think Griffen will probably be as good if not better next year than any 5 star guard we could have added.

I am surprised we didnt get higher ranked forwards but with us showing we can put forwards into the league now with Miller and Clowney you can see that a lot of the top forwards in the 2024 class like Sherrell and Freeman are very interested and we should have a lot of interest in the portal from forwards this offseason.

I agree that Walters will be a stud, I think he is gonna be very good and should be ranked in the top 50 at the least.

Anyone know why he went from a potential 5* to outside the top 100 in like a year? That's pretty unusual for a basketball recruit. Most guys pretty much are what they are by 16 or so unless there's a late growth spurt or something.

I don't know why he dropped, but looking at his stats it appears he had a "bad" Junior season after a phenomenal Sophomore year.

Good thing is he seems to have turned it around his Senior year.

MaxPreps stats

He averaged 25 ppg and 14 rpg this year.

ETA: Saying he had a bad Junior year is absolutely a stretch. He averaged almost 19 ppg and 7 rpg, but his Sophomore numbers were 20 ppg and 10 rpg.

Nice. 7 assists and 2 blocks a game too. I wish it showed what his 3p% was.

Makes sense.

Good to hear. I'm guessing we kept recruiting him hard during his junior year. Hopefully he'll get looked at again and be bumped back up some. You never know what's going on in these guys lives. Could have just had some personal life stuff going on last year and it affected his play.

Ahh, sorry, George. Somehow, it didn't click with me that you were talking about 24-25 instead of next year.

Here's a highlight video of Kris Parker from last years postseason. The more I see of him the more I like him.

He reminds me of Miller in some ways and if he's 6'8 now he's grown some and could grow even a little more.

Parker could step right in and assume that role next year a matchup nightmare for opponents

I think you're probably right, not that his JR season was bad but he did average less points rebounds ect than he did as a Sophomore and after that season is when he dropped.

Now this year he did well enough to blow his Sophomore season out of the water with 24 points, 14 rebs, 7 assist, 2 blocks a game, and they don't want to admit their mistake and rank him high again. I think we may have gotten a steal.

He’s a little more like Griffen than Miller, but he looks explosive and can stroke it.

The one thing he’s got to do is get his shot up or guys will be blocking it with their elbows.

Maybe. He is 3 inches taller than Griffen though.

Not sure what you mean there, looks like he has a high release and gets a good arc on his shots to me, and is 6'8 gonna be hard to block his threes.

Caleb Holt led his team to the State title. He scored something like 66 points in the last two games.
